Was Goff down?

Twitter is blowing up about it.

Seems like intent vs tripping so I don’t think he was, but I also haven’t been listening to the postgame chatter.

No wasn’t touched by a packer from what I saw.

He wasn’t touched by a defender

No he wasn’t down. He was tripped by his own teammate and wasn’t touched by a Packer. Now if this were college he would’ve been down, but with NFL rules that’s not down.

Absolutely not, he wasnt touched by a defender and it wasnt a “give up” kneel, people just want to bitch

Right the debate isn’t whether he was touched it’s if the QB knee goIng down like that means he’s down, like taking a knee.

They’re being dumb but it’s allllll over twitter.

Packer fans are bitching up a storm thinking it’s college rules. Goff was not touched by a Packer, nor did a Packer make him trip. He tripped over Glasgow’s foot, and he got the handoff to Montgomery from a knee. He could’ve got back up and ran or thrown if he wanted.

Packers NEEDED this game badly, and they cannot handle that they just got swept by a team held together with bubble gum and duct tape.

Only on a true “give up” which that wasnt. Just like how a spike isnt an intentional grounding but is if he drops back

Nothing to debate. This is not college and obviously not giving himself up on the play.

If he was giving himself up but clearly wasn’t. Not sure what people are thinking other than college rules.

Because the dumb announcers had to say in college he would have been down…that is nice but this is not college and probably some people not actually listening to Kirk and Al speak fully.

He was literally turned towards the running back when he got tripped and the knee hit. That’s not down by intent,

Which is one of the reasons you shouldn’t have kirk do nfl games. My company needs to hire better broadcasters

In college yes in the NFL no. It’s as simple as that.

I will say though that my balls almost went through my back for a moment right before he executed the handoff. Yikes, got lucky there.

Tom Grossi’s stream was full of Packer whiners saying Goff was down. Even complete and total Packer slappy Grossi was saying guys, he wasn’t touched, you can get back up and keep playing in the NFL.

Packer tears taste the best. The team that is used to having everything handed to it, got sent away empty handed.

Or that they desperately wanted the Lions to lose and it didn’t happen so now they have to whine about stuff like the refs or Goff tripping.

That was an unbelievablely clutch job by Goff. Full credit to him, he kept his wits about him and had the presence of mind to get the ball to the right spot for Montgomery to rush through.

I think the call was WAY past risky, but it’s what this team does. Live by the sword, die by the sword. I hated going for it on our side of the 30. I think that was also stupid. It just is what this team is going to do. I already know I am never going to like every call in a game.
