Lots of people on Twitter exposing themselves as fans who don’t know the rules.
In the NFL you can throw yourself to the ground and roll around if you want. If you aren’t touched, you aren’t down. This isn’t college.
And you can also give yourself up, i.e. victory formation. Nobody on the planet could interpret that trip as “giving himself up”.
There is exactly 0.0000% room for interpretation here. If there’s debate, it’s only by people revealing their own ignorance.

It was 4th down. Why would anyone think Goff was taking a knee. I mean don’t get me wrong I like all of the turning around and going the opposite direction to take a knee while falling down that we see every week in the league…
After going on Facebook I think it’s worse! Lol, I have a ton of packer fans as friends, many of which are pretty knowledgeable of the game and still think he was down. Crazy! Hahaha

Ha, let me make this very clear: I knew he wasn’t down. When I opened up Twitter just after the game, I saw the trending topic in Twitter was, “Controversy after Lions QB trips on final play,” and began to immediately question reality.

Definitely not down by rule book. Although I’ve thought before that if a DTackle blows up a center or guard, and that center or guard knocks down the qb or rb, perhaps that should be considered down. You haven’t actually touched the ball carrier but you blowing up the oline knocked him down. Like if a Dend knocks an offensive tackle into a qb, and the qb goes down…that’s a sack.

Just tell them if true. Why no review. I mean if he was down it was clear review. People cant be real right now. Every time lions win its because of the refs this year.
