Way Too Early 2023 Round 1 Redraft

Completely objective and fair, shouldn’t spur any arguments whatsoever.

Based solely on player, independent of team fit/need/etc at that spot

1 C.J. Stroud - elite upside, generational type QB. TOSU finally puts a great/good/average QB in the NFL. He won’t have to play in the cold/snow/Ann Arbor much so he should continue to do well

  1. Jalen Carter - Accuse me of being wrong, but don’t call me biased. Put my two most disliked/dislikable players at the top of the redraft

  2. Anthony Richardson - the question was never the ceiling but rather the floor. His floor is extremely high

  3. Will Anderson

  4. Devon Witherspoon

  5. Brian Branch - not enough size for a safety, not enough speed for a corner

  6. Puka Nacua - exhibit A on why you don’t draft WR without elite traits in the first round

  7. Bijan Robinson - continuing the lazy sportswriter tradition of keeping guys in the same draft spot

  8. Darnell Wright - 10 year starter with All Pro upside. Chicago only needs 21 more starters and they might really have something

  9. Bryce Young - cross between Daniel Jones and Mac Jones so he goes at the average of their draft positions. 10 year starter who will keep Carolina fans disappointed for 10 years.

  10. Sam LaPorta

  11. Christian Gonzales

  12. Peter Skoronski

  13. Paris Johnson - I have absolutely no idea how he’s doing but he’s started 4 games so I’ll put him here

  14. Mazi Smith - disruptive

  15. Tank Dell - exhibit B on why you don’t draft WR without elite traits in the first round

  16. De’Von Achane

  17. Ivan Pace - good spot for the best LB in the draft

  18. Keeanu Benton - Steelers do it again

  19. Tuli Tuipulotu

  20. Jayden Reed - exhibit C on why you don’t draft WR without elite traits in the first round

  21. Jahmyr Gibbs

  22. Emmanuel Forbes - I forgot about him earlier so I’ll put him here

  23. Bryan Bresee - disruptive

  24. Dalton Kincaid

  25. John Michael Schmitz

  26. Joe Tippman

  27. Terrell Smith

  28. Joey Porter Jr - did you know his dad played for the Steelers too?

  29. Jack Campbell

  30. Marvin Mims - exhibit D on why you don’t draft WR without elite traits in the first round

  31. Jaxon Smith-Njigba averaging 3 yards/target. But he had a really really good combine!

Is this your redraft or from an article somewhere?

it’s mine. something I’ve been thinking about for a couple weeks. mostly serious except for some of the WR stuff
