Did they cackle at other teams in the league or did they show the players and coaches the respect they deserved on a nationally produced show?
The only way to overcome it, is to
Start punching back. Early and often.
Respect is earned.
Last year, goff showed zero and made everyone look bad.
Made himself look bad.
Made his WR look bad.
Made his RB look bad.
Made his OL look bad.
Made his OC look bad.
Made his HC look bad.
Made.his GM look bad.
There was no gravitation towards the idea that it was âGoffs teamâ.
Until.that happensâŚwe are just waiting for that leader to take control.
Could it he Goff? Sure.
Will it? Thars up to him.
What he showed last year was weakness and cowardice.
Thereâs also tangible evidence that others are jumping on the Lions bandwagon. The Vegas futures odds keep getting better and better (or worse and worse) if your betting on the Lions.
Sometimes, it seems to me that NFL âstoriesâ become self-fulfilling prophecies.
The Saints after Katrina
The Bucs when Brady went on his own after Belichick
The Rams to see if Stafford was for real.
This year it may just be MCDC, the lovable Teddy Bear.
Been a fan for a long time, and not sure Iâve ever seen this much love for our team.
The worm is turning.

It was situational and spotty. Not 100% of the time, but shows potential for weaknessâŚas well as leadership. Itâs much easier to lead, when things are going well. Difference from leading from the front and leading from the back seat. NO QB is gonna win in the situation Goff was in last year. Up to mid season, he literally had wRs running the wrong routes â insanity.
That said, itâs not the losingâŚitâs HOW you lose. The ENERGY of leadership.
OF COURSE YOU ARE GONNA LOSE, in that situation.
ButâŚwhat happens when we are in a very different situation?
I can see us getting to a point where we whip the shit out of most teams. Most teams on the schedule we are favored to win, and I trust Goff to knock those out regularly. We have to play ot his strengths. He can handle certain types of adversity, but not physical confrontation. You wonât see Goff shove someone after a playâŚyou wonât see him stare into the eyes of a DL with ââ â â â youâ energy, when they are talking shit. Itâs the whole âman whoop a man,â thing that I donât trust him with.
In playing to his strengths, we need him to not get touched by another human. He can handle pressure, like on rollouts and passing, while technically under duress, as long as he can get rid of the ball before the hit comes. Goff doesnât like contact, from what Iâve seen.
I trust him to make great passes, in tight windows, with high accuracy.
I trust him with the deep ball, if he can get set and load up (OL gives him great time).
I trust him to not flake and give up in a game.
I trust him to shake off a 'bad play" and come right back (short memory).
I trust him to not be a locker room downer.
I trust him to be smart enough to read defenses.
âŚI just want him to learn to develop a different layer of toughnessâŚit WILL cause less panic and better decisions. Itâs the Dawg/warrior energy that causes more ââ â â â youâ than panic. Thatâs what we need for his game to be complete. Iâm not asking him to be mike TysonâŚjust a little more Tyson-esque. LOL
Even backhanded compliments are welcomeâŚâApplause for not scuttling JARED GOFF for one of the 2022 Draft QB group. That might have been like deleting Goff, to add⌠well, another Goff.â
deleting Goff, to add⌠well, another Goff.â
YES! So true. SO hard to get a QB in the NFL. Crap shoot. One thing that comforts me is our coaching staffâs ability to get the most out of players. All of these guys are physically gifted, teaching the mental part is what sets them apart. Drafting guys who have the capacity to receive the mental part. SO important.
You donât get a QB, just to get one. If it isnât an upgrade, generally speaking, you dontâ do it.
Our coaching staff is part of the reason I believed in Willis so much. they WOULD get his ceiling out of him, as they will get the ceiling out of most players, especially the ones who can receive it.
We WILL see Goffâs ceiling, with our coaches. I would love to have a situation where we have 2 brilliant QBs on the roster. I am not entrenched in the idea of who has to be âthe guy.â I am not entrenched in the camp of âkeep goff,â nor am I entrenched in the camp of âget rid of Goff.â The Keep Goff/Goff is âthe guyâ group often got pissy over my opinionâŚ
butâŚwhat if we develop an amazing QBâŚAND Goff?
We have a first round pick that we can turn into 2 or 3 first round picks?
I dont see the harm in it, and am confused by those that do.
Last thing Iâm gonna do at this point is question the professionals. Dan and Brad have my trust. If they think Goff is âthe guy,â then so do I.
Whatever happens, go getârâdone, boys. I loved those NYG teams with Phil Simms, as well as the NYG teams with Eli. I can see us creating something like that around Goff. Super-fun stuff.
If we do it, I believe we need to create a defense that can kick Josh Allenâs ass.
Much easier said than done.
We WILL see Goffâs ceiling, with our coaches.
The fact is we may not see Goffâs ceiling for a few years, and yet we have people here who would have you believe that they have seen all they need to see.

Your ceiling changes, as your potential changes. Things that you are capable of expand as you step into another level. Stafford will improve this year, as he improved last yearâŚand will continue to.
Brady wasnât todayâs Brady eitherâŚthat MFâr is getting better too. Crazy to think, but he is.
Made himself look bad.
Made his WR look bad.
Made his RB look bad.
Made his OL look bad.
Made his OC look bad.
Made his HC look bad.
Made.his GM look bad.
The only person that anyone can make look good or bad is themself.
Made his OC look bad.
You really must be related to Anthony Lynn to consider that sentiment for even a split secondâŚ. ![]()

Goff finished strong. He will have a LOT more talent around him this year. His head wonât be messing with him after getting traded out of his former home. He knows what heâs dealing with this year and he knows the organization stood behind him by passing on a QB this year. Letâs see what he can do with a massively improved WR room and a healthy OLine and a creative OC. He may surprise us. LETSGOOOOOOO!

the practice squad WRs he had to play with to start the season or the rookie who had the best rookie year for a WR in Lions history?
Yeah I donât get the cackle coming out of that chick. Where did she play ball?
Isnt that Joy Taylor? She was the one so offended by DC wearing the racing helmet
