We beat Matt Stafford at his absolute best. What it means

I want to make sure that we don’t lose sight of that.

There was no silly pick six.

There was no head scratching throw. That dude was slinging the ball everywhere; he just about got murdered by Hutch and McNeil, left the tent, and came back and threw even more dimes. We got vintage, at-his-best, iron-man Matthew Stafford.

AND WE BEAT HIM.

GOFF BEAT HIM.

He brought his best, and IT WAS NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

For me, this means we can beat anyone. ANYONE. There isn’t a single team we fear. We stared down our past, and it brought everything it could, and we. ■■■■■■■. won.

LFG!!!

I want to add something else …

I’m watching the SVP remarks after the game, and him and Hasselbeck are singing Matt’s praises and his toughness, even though they came up short.

Boo hoo.

It’s fun finally being on the other end of that.

Didn’t see this. No-look, sidearm.

(He still lost).

I totally agree Nate. Vintage Matt. No excuses. No turnovers from either team. Just balling.

In the end Goff scored 3 TDs in the 1st half and Matt scored 2 TDs. That was the difference.

No luck, just a win over a quality Rams team at pretty much full strength.

With Dallas losing, and what that all means going forward, I think this was the biggest win in Lions history. At least in the Super Bowl era.

That game was a serious blow to Stafford’s hall of fame chances. I know y’all like to think he’s in, but I’m not seeing it. He needs to bolster his resume substantially.

There’s some rumors on Rams boards that Stafford played with two broken ribs last night. To go along with his mangled hand and whatever else he had going on.

Dude … RETIRE. You’ve done enough.

I wouldn’t even be surprised.

That’s one tough SOB

you would think a twice broken back would be enough. then I saw his household has 5 women in it. He’s playing until he’s this:

Totally agree. Stafford throws a laser and he was in typical dialed in form last night.

BUT, i will add that Goff also thru some vintage dime’s last night. They’re sexy but for some reason just not quite as sexy???!!!

  1. watch the early throw to Reynolds where he threads a dime between 3 defenders!
  2. watch the “floater he drops” perfectly to ARSB coming out of motion towards the right one on one (that is a thing of beauty)
  3. watch the ball he drills into ARSB with Witherspoon draped all over him where only Sun God wins that battle and wrestles it away from “spoon”

Those are all dime passes and every pass was a clutch throw in that game that lead to a victory.

Go Goff!

Absolutely right on. Easy to remember the Goff fumble/terrible decision but hard to remember the incredible dime to LaPorta on 4th down for a TD. The HUGE pass to St. Brown. Critical passes to Gibbs and Monty. Esp. Monty’s lone (and HUGE) catch.

And of course passing to Brown to ice the game.

Stafford was on but it wasn’t enough.

Jared completes a bigger share of tight-window throws than ANYBODY.

Anyone? I’m not worried about anyone but the Packers, has anyone seen how Love, AJ, WR’s, and that D have been playing?

Yes and, Lions need not fear anyone. Everyone left in the playoffs is a killer INCLUDING US! Gang to gang, I’m bettin’ on ours.

100%. Stafford was absolutely on his game and played one of the best games of his entire career. I honestly can’t recall one bad throw yesterday from him, and there were a ton of holy shit throws. I doubt we play a QB in this playoffs that can top that performance, even If it Lamar in the Super Bowl.
