Whoever the 5 seed ends up being is going to have a pretty good draw.

Ya. Five seed is a good draw minus the extra game.

Figure that will end up being Texas or Oregon (if they lose in Big 10 championship game).

The Big 12 and ACC are fukced

Well yeah. They’re the bring a knife to a gun fight conferences.

But there are sooooo many guns around these parts.

I’ll tell you what’s gonna happen, we’re gonna bring private equity into the game, or worse, Saudi sheiks. Not because we want to, because our hand has been forced. We’ll see how much the powers-that-be enjoy their little sandbox then.

Absolutely. I mentioned college sports veering into Premier League territory as it went down.

As a fan I hate it but it puts food on the table in the fall so I’m grateful that Oregon did what they did.

It’s the only option left to us. And college football is a different animal. Even the best teams from the little European leagues who got pushed aside were lucky to fill 10K seat stadiums, and could only really be watched in their home countries. They also didn’t have built-in fanbases like colleges do with alumni. I expect private equity and the sheiks to be very interested in the Big 12 and the ACC.

But I also expect the Big 10, SEC and ESPN to try like hell to stop it.

The BYU ranking is laughable. Indiana hasn’t beaten anybody with a pulse yet they’re ranked ahead while BYU beat the #13 team on the road and destroyed a ranked K-State team. So ok, they use the eye test for Indiana (who beat up a bunch of shit teams) then fine so…what is Penn State doing at 6 and Miami at 4 then? Both have been barely getting by against mediocre competition and have a combined one win against a ranked team, Miami beating a 3 loss Louisville. It’s obvious that name brand is mostly what matters and in Indiana’s case being in the Big 10.

Also, who has Texas beaten? The one good team they played handled them easily. More name brand pumping.

I think the Big 10 and SEC’s aims are just on having it be a two conference system.

BUT the rub is that they want to be choosy and then leave a lot of Independents.

SEC and BIG10 share ten spots and the next two highest ranking get in. I think that’s their aim. Try and get as big of a slice of the pie as possible while slicing it as few ways as possible.

Monopoly is always the goal for big businesses. We used to try and stop that sort of thing from happening, but no more, but I won’t go too deep into that. But the fallout is it forces the players about to get choked out to make drastic decisions.

At this point the bracket will be

1 B10 Champ
2 SEC champ
3 ACC champ
4 B12 Champ
5-11 Wild cards (ND/ SEC/ B10)
12 Likely Boise

Disappointed that as of right now. No southern teams are going north for the first round

It also guts the athletic departments of those that don’t find a chair when the music stops. And the expediency is breathtaking. It’s already happening in Corvallis and it’s going to have damn near tragic effects on that institution and community. All bc of the boundless greed of the Alphas.

IMO it really is a perfect microcosm for the “got mine pathogen” that currently sickens this country.

Key is, as you stated, “as of right now”. Lots can change between now and end of the season.

Oh absolutely. However. We all know the becket makers always “tweak” it so they have matchups they want. Which i am ok with. To an extent. Like minimize rematches first round. Or matching up teams that get better ratings.

But dont play favorites.

Yep Michigan can beat OSU

UGA first team out. I suspect Indiana will be out after OSU gets done with them this weekend.

However this turns out, I’m super stoked with the 12 team playoffs. This needed to be done a long freaking time ago. It’s gonna garner a ton of interest with some super intriguing match ups. Hopefully Michigan can get their shit together and get back into the mix next season.

I think a 11-1 Ind gets in

And for sure a 12-1 gets in assuming they beat OSU and lose to Oregon

Anyway I want them if for the shear joy it will being that fan base. This will never happen again

I don’t have faith in them going against other top ranked teams, top 12 teams, and think there is a good chance they don’t make it.
Now, they beat OSU and I will give them credit.

I want to see some really good matchups in the playoffs and not sure they will offer that.
