Week 5 - How do we beat/compete with the Vikings?

I think the best way for us to beat the Vikings is to wait until next year and have a good draft.

And Farley, despite being a hardcore Packers fan in real life, playing a Bears Fan for SNL skits, will always be my favorite comedian of all time. That dude was simply hilarious.

But if I meet Farley in heaven some day, I’ll still tell him fuck the packers and bears!
And Go Lions Go!

Play clean. Play smart. Ball control. Shorten the game.

I think all of our preparation should be how to turn their pressure against them. I don’t think we can keep Goff clean playing it straight (even in max protect) so we have to be clever to beat their A gap of blitzes. Unfortunately even if we do that and force them to go vanilla they’ll probably beat us.

As to what we need to do to not get embarrassed. Tackle Dalvin Cook and pursue his rushes with the field in balance. We over-pursue and/or miss tackles and he’ll kill us.

2 teams of snipers, just like the day WCF bought the Lions…

Maybe hit a few field goals instead of trying the fourth, to improve the stats.
Garbage time is a chance for Goff to set his hand for the next game.
I would force Amon-Ra.
I believe in him, after all, what can go wrong in today’s game.

Sounds like Sewell, J Will, Hock, and Swift will all be active according to Rapoport.

Just cover it in salt and butter you’ll be ok

Right now it feels like a long shot to beat the Vikings, or pretty much any NFL team. I always like to remember the old adage that you’re never as bad as you were on your worst day or as good as you were on your best day. So, if we get a performance that is better than last week (I shutter to think we could do worse), we may have a 10% chance of winning.
That said, Vikings 30, Lions 21.

I’d say that we have to put some pressure on the QB on the final drive when we’re leading 17-16 with 37 seconds left, so they don’t get two big chunk plays and get in position to win with a long field goal.

Let’s see how my prediction works out.
