Week 5- LIONS @ BENGALS Spread: Lions -8.5

A lot of point to give the home team

Lions have the highest point differential in the NFL (as of today) - 49 points

8.5 points to the Burrowless Bengals may not be enough.

Carson Wentz and the Vikings put up 48 points on them.

Without Burrows that team is hot garbage.

Wentz is a very capable QB. (at times) Their receiving corps is 2nd to none.

Point being is that if Carson Wentz and the Vikings can beat them 48-10 then the Lions won’t have trouble covering 8.5.

I thought it was too high too. Though we get to scout them tonite.

Though i will say our jaunt through the AFC North isn’t much tougher than the AFC South was last year. Take Burrow out of that division and it aint so tough anymore.

I’d still like to circle the Rogers game and give him a little more misery!

I worry about their WRs against our backup CBs.

Other than that we should win easily.

That game got away from Cincy, horrible turnovers and the hangover of losing their QB all week played big part in that.

I expect them to bounce back and make it a tougher game agianst Denver tonight.

Yeah I have to admit playing the AFC N sounded like a 2-2 record at best. Now I feel like 4-0 or we suck….LOL

Ravens - check

Cleveland - check

Cincy - with no Burrow would be a massive let down

Pitt - I feel like the Lions will get up for this one just because of Rogers

What looked like a brutal schedule looks much more doable.

I know this is brand new Lions but our history against backup quarterbacks doesn’t give me an easy feeling ever. Especially following a week where we just had both starting corners injured. But I do have confidence in this team and in DC. Couple that with Dan putting in the lockerroom postgame speech that they had a lot to clean up, I think they will cover the spread. But mostly, I just want a win.

I’m more worried about facing KC and TB without Reed.

We do have Rock, and Amik so I still like our options. Especially if we can get a pass rush.

Sounds like we will need backup CBs to massively step ip

Normally I would think –oh krap- TRAP.

But with DC in charge he isn’t going to let up for anyone. However, I hate playing a team with nothing to lose.

Burrow is a true Bengal and a real threat if he was healthy, Browning is a weasel.

Is it possible to score negative points in a game.

Bengals have 3 points through 3 quarters against the 1-2 Broncos.

Lions/Bengals score = 31 to (-10)

Well they’re struggling tonight to move the ball.

We get to play them on a short week for them. They won’t have time to prepare and the travel distance only makes it harder for them… basically they get two less days to prepare than normal. Toss in the fact that we’re a non-conference match and I suspect we’re just an afterthought

Was concerned with the Bengals and thought the line was a bit high—especially playing on the road. Not after tonight. I don’t know how good Denver’s defense is compared to ours and Chase and Higgins could still be a problem, but our offense is better than Denver’s. Bo Nix threw for over 300 and Dobbins ran for over a 100 and averaged over 6 yards a carry.
