For a few more months, I live in the land of Buckeyes. I was so disappointed when the Longhorns were down by 20 going into the fourth quarter. But three. straight touchdowns and they squeaked it out at the end. Beautiful. I can almost hear these Buckeyes neighbors crying. I wonder how many of them shut the TV off after halftime thinking it was over?
I actually fell asleep after halftime but woke up just before the fourth quarter. My daughter, who just recently started following football, particularly the Lions, had gone to bed at halftime so I texted her to let her know what was going on. She got up and came into my bedroom and watched it with me and the wife. It was awesome.
Me and my buddy were texting last night about how disappointing Arch had been playing, which was around late 3rd quarter.
Then, Bam, he figured it out, including 2, maybe 3 fourth down conversions in the 4th quarter. That OSU missed fg was obviously a killer. One of the best comebacks I’ve seen in a while in a high stakes game.
I am a season ticket holder to the Spartans and threw our usual 80-100 person tailgate. So I did not get back until half time. I kept dozing off until that missed FG (hook em anyone LOL).
You can not script sports sometimes. tOSU “hooks” a FG attempt that makes that last second TD mean victory.
Texas as a team was so insanely excited. I can say honestly that they truly felt like they had lost and had hit that 1% Hail Mary needed to win and winning was almost as much a shock to them as the fans.
Wish I was in Austin last night as they must still be partying.
I wonder if they ever got a good interview from anyone on Texas as they were a mess right after.
It was glorious…but with the expanded playoff, ultimately it doesnt hurt Ohio all that much. Another reason why I hate the new format…10 years ago, this loss would have Ohio behind the 8 ball on the outside looking in when comes to a natty…blah blah, back in my day, get off my lawn and stuff
What a crazy place the world has become. An actual loss is being spun as not a loss. Honesty, humility and accountability are terms that will soon be removed from the lexicon because they no longer exist.
I know it was a combination of things that led to Ohio State losing (just as glorious today as it was last night), but can’t believe the man who maybe made the greatest defensive call in the history of the SB (per his own quote) couldn’t get a stop in the 4th quarter. It’s just outstanding and with a Lions win today, it will be the perfect football weekend so early in the season.
Edited to add - a Bears loss will also be awesome however unlikely it may be.
