First time since they have been keeping records that there were 3 turnovers on a play and that one player committed two turnovers on a play.

And it is a record that can only be tied but never can be broken under current NFL rules.

I immediately went to my fantasy league and yes, Hurts got charged for two turnovers on that play. Imagine losing your chance at the FF playoffs by a single point because of it. I’m sure it happened to more than a few teams across the country.

Easily he would have but him getting the fumble recovery back was near impossible.

Interesting. So what would’ve happened had the last guy fumbled it again and the Eagles had recovered?

Per NFL rules, the play is blown dead after the 3rd turnover’s recovery. I guess the objective was to prevent teams from fumbling the ball down the field.

I only know because I was researching that play to see if 3 turnovers on a play was the record and found out that it has not happened before and that rule came up noting that per current rules it can never be broken.
