What are your expectations for the Tigers in 2025?

With Opening Day on Thursday, I thought this would be a good poll to gauge where everyone’s at.

I think it’s a pretty obvious statement that the Tigers were clearly ahead of schedule last season. Many speculated that Skubal could win the Cy Young, but not many had us in the ALDS before the season started.

So that begs the question:

What are you expectations for the Tigers in 2025?
  • Make Playoffs
  • Make ALDS
  • Make ALCS
  • Make World Series
  • Win World Series
  • Win AL Central
  • 90+ Wins
  • 80+ Wins
  • 70+ Wins
  • 60+ Wins
  • 50+ Wins

(You can vote twice. Once for a win total projection and once for a potential playoff result)

If it bet it i would guess. Just over 80 wins.
3rd in the division.
Missing out on WildCard.

The young guys will get better. But the Offensive lineup is just too thin and bad to truly be competitive.

I cant see a bunch of Toledo guys coming up and filling in for injuries and batting .150 OPS over their career averages like last season.

So that would be 80+ wins not 70+, right?

I’ll go 85-88 wins and first Wild card spot, from there anything can happen

Bout where Im at

I think it’s right to be skeptical of the lineup top to bottom but I think we are underestimating a little bit the amount of improvement that’s going to happen organically by the young guys having some more time under their belt last year

That’s a fair point as well. But we’re not going to see Baez burn up 300 played appearances this year I don’t think either. But they need their AAA guys to be actual players. 0 war players and not negative guys

I think around 75-78 wins. Im not sure their better or not. Mix feelings

Who wins the central with that many wins?

I do expect growth from the young bats as they get better, I don’t think any have reached their ceilings yet.

I want to see if Mize has really figgered out his off speed options or is it another “Bonderman changeup” story line. Jobe will have growing pains no doubt, also some damn he is impressive moments.
This rotation could really fun… with some good guys in the wings as well.

So, was Alex Cobb Jackson Jobe insurance?

Or was he Kenta Maeda insurance?

Because it seems that Casey Mize was 98% sure to have a roster spot barring injury

I don’t think the Mize of 2023/2024 was guarranteed anything, remember he was left off the playoff roster.

He has seriously improved his stuff based on what he has done in ST, now does it carry over or can he keep it going.

Cobb, imo, was a signing as they didn’t know what Mize, Maeda or Jobe would offer in the spring. Curious to see what they do with him when he is healthy, provided he gets there. Especially if the above three are doing well.

If Jobe can ‘get’ it this year, we will have one of the best pitching staffs in baseball.

Our defense probably won’t compliment the staff very well though.

Just depends on how quick they can get Baez out of the lineup for the year.

Ugghhh;…

Outfield should do fine once Meadows and Greene are side by side.
Sweeney good defense.

If Skubal, Flaherty and Olsen stay the same,
and Mize and Jobe do what they did in the spring,
we could have the best pitching staff in the AL.
If we stay with the timely hitting, I’m going to say 90 wins and an ALCS berth.
Cleveland and Boston look very good though. Yanks may have a down year.

Once Meadows is back, our OF D is pretty good, no?
I do think Keith didn’t shine at 1B, and 3B is a Q mark, so you may be right.
