I first broke up USA and Canada into 4 divisions of equal population. (~95 give or take) north south east and west.
Then i broke up those divisions into 8 areas. Again equal population between 10.5-12.5m.
So aside from a few teams just moving down the road (New York to NJ or LA to SD)
27 teams had to move. Out of 160.
4 teams move back.
NBA: SAC back to CIN
NBA: OKC back to SEA
NHL: WIN back to ATL
NHL: UTA back to PHX
MLS/ NBA: Utah to Vegas
MLS: LAFC to PHX
MLB: LAA to CGY
MLS: VAN to CGY
NFL/ NBA: IND to CGY
MLS/ NBA: PRT to BUF
MLB: CHW to BUF
NHL: VAN to KC
NBA: SAN to KC
NHL: EDM to HOU (Oilers)
NFL/ MLB/ NBA: WIS to MTL
MLB/ MLS/ NHL: STL to NO
MLS: AUS to BAL
NHL: NYI to BAL
NHL: OTT to CIN
NFL: JAX to TOR
Expansion
MLB: NAS & CLT
NBA: BAL & PIT
Elevation
MLS: DET & PIT
Just thought it was a cool concept.
Plus then they would all share divisions. And no more east west conferences.
Just N S E W.
NHL & MLB play 72 Games
Play 2 Home 2 Away games vs 7 Divisional opponents
H&H vs rest of the league.
MLB 156
4 - 3 Gams series vs division
3 game series vs league
NFL still has conferences because aint no way they would have 14 divisional games

I find it odd the NFL never put a team in Canada.
Theres over 20m people in the 300 miles from Hamilton to Montreal. They just must figure Buffalo is close enough. But the other 4 major sports do. Why not the NFL.
And sure. In Door stadium like Minnesota

Grizzlies to Nashville but we really don’t want ‘em.

For sure…there was a real push for it about 20 years ago. Never happended. Kinda strange considering the nfl wants so many international games.

Canada should have a team in Chatham, right by The Wheels Inn.
I would go.

Is the Wheels Inn still there? My dad took me there when I was little.
Arcade games, pools, water slides, and the first time I ever played 5 pin bowling.

So indy loses both teams and i would have to deal with more chitcago games? Thats a really bad and stupid idea.

I hear ya but its based on equal population.
MN, WI, IA, IL, IN, OH, KY
Is all >50m people. Enough for 4 teams.
(12m pop per team)
Minneapolis, Chicago, Cleveland, Cinci.
All have a higher metro area population. With more current sports teams.
And yes Indy is
100 miles from Cinci
250 to nashville
150 to Chicago
250 to detroit
250 to Cleveland
Just surrounded by other teams.

Does Columbus lose their hockey team? Indy loses 2 teams. All their majors and ohio gains an extra nhl team (cin) and keeps Columbus too?
Toronto should have been a no brainer for an expansion franchise. Not far from Pitt, Buff, NE.
Tons of population; first step in international team to globalize the game.

Yes. And Crew.
Columbus moves to Cleveland. I didnt list those moves because they were so minor
Like the Orlando teams moving to Tampa or The secondary LA and NY teams moving to SD and NJ.
So Cleveland would have
Browns, Cavs, Guardians, Blue Jackets Crew.
Cinci
Bengals, Kings, Reds, Senators, Cin FC.
Exactly. Like i said theres over 20m people between Toronto Ottowa and Montreal. And thats just the 20 miles wide stretch along the border.
