What happened? Label screw them over?
Yes, majorly, and their manager effed them over too. They went into huge debt.
Happened to a chef friend of mine. Awesome, talented guy. Business partner F’d him over and left him in financial ruin. Drank himself to death thereafter.
Sucks, really sucks. An old one here…
I LOVE RL Burnside
I used to know some guys in his circle, tight.

hate it, bro. ‘very cool’ was a reference to the music
love ya, boys. listening to this one right now.
Ah yes. Agreed then. Just sucks to watch someone quit when they’re up against it. 38.
Wife and daughter are making a go of it though.
I have to say I find your choices of musical interests very worthwhile of listening.
I have several albums/cd’s by John Lee Hooker and I really like his collaborations like the one @BigNatty posted. “The Healer” is my favorite of those and he did an entire album with Canned Heat called, “Hooker and Heat”. And I was a big fan of Leslie West and “Mountain”, only time I went to see them West was ill and couldn’t play. Still got to see Head East, Frampton, Charlie Daniel’s and Foghat that day.
John Lee did a lot of work with Van Morrison in his later years.https://youtu.be/Zw7MqRcMmUA
awesomeness!
John Lee Hoooker is just friggin’ cool. Owns himself from a highly authentic space. Love it!
How, how, how how…
