He is from the Phoenix area and has a lot of family here. I met his Aunt and cousins at a Sams club when he signed with the Lions. He may have just wanted to go back home.

The vet minimum is 1.3 million dollars.

$2m over vet minimum is NOTHING. In the NFL. You need 8 quality DL to win a superbowl.

Wingo and C Smith got beat out by 30+ year old vets off other teams practice squad.
Lacy is one of those 30 year old PS players.
Hass is completely unproven.
So between all of them. They have a grand total of 4. They need 4+ more with 0 money and 2 draft picks.

Thats 7 quality NFL players. 3 starters and 4 roll players.

That’s fine to have that opinion but it’s a statement of fact the deal AQM signed in Tampa is more than 2.5 million above the league minimum
Call me crazy but Brad found those dudes on the scrap heap before so I don’t think it’s exactly a stretch in logic to think he can find their replacements

NT - Reader, Lopez, C Smith BroMart
Soooo
DE - Lost AQM, Davenport. Replaced Agude with Hass
BE - lost paschal/ replaced Oconnor with Lacy
3T - lost adams
DT - Replaced reader with williams
So vs last year we are down
1 starter, 2 2nd string and 4? Depth.
Training camp is 4.5 months away.
I’m worried abour edge but the rest of those spots can easily be filled by currently unsigned dudes.

We currently have 8.
So what? Gonna sign 6 UDFAs and 6 over the hill vets? Just to fill out the Pre Season roster? 0 competition for camp.

1 week post FA last 3 seasons.
Currently we dont even have enough players to fill out the front 4 with even practice squad level guys.
Let alone the handful of decent mid level guys.

The FO can read a chart too.
They have an idea in mind, whatever it may be.
They filled the DB area and have picked on 2/3 of the OL overhaul.
Probably see a WR here shortly, then a quick flood of 2-4 DL.

What kills me is that we all are worried about secondary. You know a way to relieve some of that pressure? Get to the QB!!!
I hate the idea of counting on a mid round guy to be that guy opposite Hutch. Adjusting to the NFL is hard.
I wasn’t big on cam Jordan moving needle for me but at this point I’d be excited like it’s 2015

My problem with the “They have a plan” posts is that their plan on the DL has sucked recently and I’m not seeing any signs yet that Holmes has changed philosophy regarding that position, which is concerning.

But that’s a hell of a gamble to be so arrogant that you think you can turn every street FA into a 11 sack guy, kinda like depending of a 6th rd pic with barely a couple games experience plugging him into a starter position on the strength of your offense. How did that turn out.

Dude with some of these guys there like a little Brad puppet. Literally anything he does is masterful dude could sign pee wee Herman, and they would rave about. Or they could cut Hutch tomorrow and they would be on saying he sucked any way or he wasn’t elite cost to much . That whys it’s hard to even take anything they say seriously. Brad shits it’s roses. But truth is these same guys acted the same in the first few years of Rod Marnelli, not very reliable and just a tad inaccurate.
