Or not drafting a wide receiver until the 4th round in 2021
Lol , just my point. now a guy like you thinks it will happen Everytime, great pic , if you gamble your season on this expectation you have seasons like last year often.
Also I believe St earned his playing time.
A strong case can be made that was the single best draft pick in the history of the franchise. Banking on that again feels crazy. Especially since the last few mid round guys he’s loved were Bromart and Manu.
We should all be glad we have Brad Holmes in charge - but let’s not act like the guy can turn water to wine or that he’s got a magic wand.
Plenty of time for him to improve this team. But his most recent offseasons feel like he’s starting to come back down to earth.
Tom Brady was a 6th rd pick bro!!…let cook Brad or somthin somthin ![]()

I’m sure Brad would love to be more active in FA. In fact I’m sure he is actually very active.
All it would take for everyone to know just how active, is for these middling players to take contracts commensurate with their value.
So what everyone actually wants here is for Brad to start overpaying in FA. Which he is very unlikely to do.
Now we can disagree where that line is that constitutes overpaying. There are some guys who signed for prices I would pay, but we’re comically uninformed over here. None of us have access to medical reports that might have caused us to turn away. None of us knows about character stuff. We’re just yelling into the void.
Levi we view as a tweener. We need to add a vet (Jordan
) and a high level draft prospect. We will. Maybe a DPR later though that guy could be a hybrid like Barham.
Hutch/Jordan/2nd round Edge/Levi at times/AH/day three DPR?
Something like that would be fine.
In terms of what remains from a pass rush standpoint, the highlighted guys are all still available.
There are still lots of ways to make this DL better right now. Brad seems to be sticking with his prices and a number of players have learned their market isn’t what THEY thought it would be. Taylor Decker and DJ Reader come to mind. The Bills DE.
If Brad adds say DT Reader back and a DE I’m happy. then the draft.
If we have TyLeik Williams, Alim McNeil, Reader, Levi, and Wingo and maybe a rookie DT I’m happy. I don’t count chris Smith or Lacy.
At DE Hutch, veteran, 2026 rookie, 2025 rookie that still lacks a body. Room for one more.
Gotta add at least two more bodies to the DL at this point.
I’ve been messing around imagining OLine combos in the other thread, but they could end up foregoing OT with the first two picks. Keldrick Faulk and like Lee Hunter or something would go a long way toward fortifying the DLine.
The problem i have is arguably the top 2 biggest holes the lions had on the roster day 1 of the offseason, (OT and F7) Is still the biggest holes and they have done nothing to address it.
Borom is fine enough to add depth. But the front 7 on D. They havent even brought in any cheap vets like they USUALLY do.
No players like AQM, Stewart, Occonnor, Adams, Pittman, etc. those key depth guys. They havent even added those.
Usually they have enough players to at least assemble a 53 man roster, all be it with Practice squad level guys. But at least they have the bodies. They dont even have that.
It seems like their plan all along was to wait until the market favors value contracts for these positions. If they blink early, then they lose their leverage. Not saying I agree. Saying what it is.
which is what they have done in the past. However they usually at the very minimum sign a bunch of fill-in players.
Ie like an Adams, Lacy, OConnor. Zero guarantees former practice squad guys. To at least be placeholder until they make those moves.
They haven’t even done that yet.
Hey now, don’t try to take away our fun
More exaggerated BS, AQM was not a over pay , so saying that what people want him to start over paying is Made up. If Brad signed him for that you same guys would be on here calling in a great signing and a great price.
This is what I’m thing as well. Faulk might be BPA unless Freeling is there. This is an ideal trade down year. Faulk and Freeling honestly trade down for Miller or Proctor. Miller being the likely better right tackle.
Cam Jordan makes soooo much sense.
Exactly.
I didnt want AQM to start. But as a good depth? DE#3? Absolutely. And $2.5m over minimum is DIRT cheap for a DE3.
Maybe , there yelling because we did this last year and seen the results. ![]()
Exactly,
the thing is that I think Brad has a offer out there to someone and isn’t budging till he see what going to happen. He obviously wasn’t as high AQM
Pee Wee is a terrific Wide Reciever! ![]()
AQM wasnt high on his list?
He and Dan were just bragging at the combine “how many teams have 2 double digit sack guys”
Welp. Now they have 1.
And maybe they finally realized all sacks arnt created equal.
Time to pressure is massive. And as i stated earlier since 2023. Lions are bottom 5 in the NFL.
