Yup that was always the deal with DirecTV. Gotta hope YT keeps that plan. I haven’t seen anything either way.
I’m in Erie Pa and I have always had Direct TV. I don’t know anything about streaming. My internet is not fast but it seems to work ok for samsung plus if I watch it but I have seen it buffering at times. My local market is the Bills. How do I watch my Lions games on Youtube TV?
- Youtube TV with nfl/redzone tier package = $99.99/month
- Amazon Prime = $140/annually
You can turn off the tier with redzone in the summer, i believe, for youtube tv to reduce the cost by like $10-$20.
You have to trick your device into thinking you’re in a detroit zip code.
Here’s one set of instructions, but you may want to Google instructions specific to your device
Change Location on YouTube TV to Bypass Regional Restrictions- Dr.Fone.
I have that package also but i could never stream a game.
Sorry your way ahead of me. First how do I get youtube TV? Then can I just order Lions games without purchasing the whole package?
I turn on the ESPN app on my Roku TV for MNF and get the Manning Cast as well (ESPN 2 I believe). Not sure why yours isn’t working but I’ve never had an issue. It has also worked on my PC. Never tried it on the phone but that’s because the ESPN app sucks on the phone so I never bothered.
This works too. I play sounds of gun shots and sirens in the background to trick my device into thinking I am in Detroit.
I usually just have the YouTube TV base plan for the fall for $64.99. I may add the sports plan (includes NLF/redzone) for $10.99.
I usually recorded Lions game, another 1pm game, a 4pm game, Sunday and Monday night games and watched them
Not sure if its any different here in Canada, but I’m on my 4th IPTV provider right now. Its fantastic for all of the shows my kids and wife love to watch. It also provides me with all the sports I could imagine.
Only issue I have is buffering and lag time..
Its probably my biggest pet peeve, and thats the only reason I left it off my list.
I just cant handle watching a live sporting event knowing Im minutes behind and occasionally waiting for the channel to buffer and load.
I have the fastest internet offered to me in my area, so I know it isnt that.
But if you can handle that, I agree. Its amazing. And super affordable.
I’ll end up getting YouTubeTV. I’ve had Sunday Ticket forever so I can’t imagine not being able to watch games every Sunday.
Love the RedZone and NFL plus is worth every penny.
Hard MF’n Core, ya’ll! Love it!
That seems exactly right.
I think mine is $99 bc i have a few other additions. Thx for correction ![]()
Fast forward between plays and that is important, because I know I had another streaming service (can’t remember which one) and I couldn’t fast forward on my recordings.
That was with DTV, we dont know if it will be the case with YOUTUBE. You would think it would be but who knows. ![]()
I’ve had DirecTV Sunday Ticket for 20+ years, but the only reason I stayed with DTV was the ability to watch out of market games (in NC). Due to their cost structure and need for remote boxes, I’ve already started the move and subscribed to YouTubeTV with their 4k options. I expect to pony up for the full package when available (about same as DTV pricing), but they are rumored to be offering a lesser cost bundle of NFL teams. No information is yet available on what that means. The overall cost including top tier NFL content and will be cheaper that I already have with about the same content.
So far I’m happy with the service and picture quality.
I used to have Directv and it was really easy to get a free year of NFL Ticket. Subscribe for a year, then call and cancel, decline all options until they offered a free year, worked three times.
A current YouTubeTV subscriber I’m waiting til they come out with all the various options before subscribing.
I’ve seen those tuition prices in the US, you deserve free football, free beer and topless dancers for every game at those prices.
With cable and a VPN I was able to watch all the lions games on Fox this year. Just set the VPN to DET or whatever the home market is and then login to fox sports with the cable credentials.
If they were on CBS I had to finagle a Paramount+ free trial but not to hard.
