You guys may think I’m nuts but I actually think this helps us come playoff time. We can rest players. Get healthy. The team is now pissed off.
And I’m expecting the league to pay us back. We are about to get some lucky breaks by the zebras in the playoffs.
I do understand that logic.
There is no doubt this week will have a heavy focus on teachable moments from this game, of which there are a lot for all three phases, four if you count coaching.
I’ll believe it when I see it. But I will say this: This wasn’t a judgement call mistake, this was a dead-ball situation with the ref CLEARLY messing up. The league may not come and outright admit they screwed the pooch, but you know they’re not happy about the PR heat they’re taking right now.
Boy, he sure sobered up at the end there, though, didn’t he? Yeah, it was kind of a bad call, ref was a little confused, but in the end Dallas won so it’s all good.
While I think this could help to galvanize us, I have severe reservations that the league is going to give the Detroit Lions any make up calls. It hasn’t happened in the 45 years I’ve been following this team.
Fair point good sir. Fair point.
But I already read the script. Lions win on a controversial call for the 1st playoff win in 32 years. Book it ![]()
Visited with the only Cowboys fan I know, he thought the player or coach was a fault. Had NO IDEA that the refs gifted his team the win. In the end, no remorse or apologies just like Skip. He chalked it up to “other calls were missed” and karma coming back to them or whatever…
I would feel better about lucky breaks if Sheila kidnapped Roger and had his nuts in a vise while he has a direct feed to the refs.
Definitely count coaching. Why were we unable to punch in TDs with the ball inside the 10 2xs? Why after the bogus “illegal” touching call did we not kick the PAT? Lots of coaching issues in this game
Ultimately, I think the ref messed up and he should have just admitted or said it was at least possible he got confused. Now, if he calls it correctly, I’m not sure that Decker is wide open like that, I imagine the Cowboys would have covered him. I’m not letting the Lions completely off the hook here though, by sending Decker, Sewell, and Skipper all out to see the referee to try and confuse the Cowboys, all they ended up doing was confusing the ref and giving them an excuse to blow the call. I mean when it’s the refs jobs to tell the defense who is eligible, this kind of ploy just isn’t a good idea. Just send Decker and then if they blow the call it’s totally on them.
Dan said they specifically went over the play step for step. Brad was told before who would be eligible if we got into a high leverage situation and used the play. Allen just made a massive human error.
The correct thing to do on a play were the ref missed the call like that would be to rerun the play, you can’t let Dallas lose a game where they were never told a guy was eligible that would be a screwing the Lions would usually get. So the Lions had 2 more chances at it, just the extra 5 yards shouldn’t have been there, which takes away a run. It’s unfortunate for sure. Bad way to end a great game.
lol I made the same mistake, expect my conversation was with a Green Bay Packer’s fan. I’m guessing you can imagine how that conversation went
The thing skip misses here is that 70 wasnt at the ref with Decker, Sewell was. The ref was running away by the time 70 got there.
There is no chance they both reported.
This crew needs to get suspended.
Gaffe at end of Chiefs game with Packers
Now this AND they just showed that Allen also called a tripping penalty on the Boys on that last cowboys drive that wasn’t on the cowboys, it was actually Hutch reaching out with his leg. Only problem is he never made contact with Pollard so it wasn’t tripping.
Anyways, this crew is garbage and now Schefter is reporting that crew is expected to get downgraded
You’re definitely a nut, but not because of this take.
Barnes, Goff, LaPorta, Glasgow, Jackson, Ragnow… They EACH had a bonehead play or two that hurt our chances last night. They’re each capable of playing better than they did, more consistently. Last night will be a reminder (a very painful, frustrating one) to be on their stinking toes as the off-season progresses.
LOL… NFL gonna help Lions???

it shouldn’t be that way—if i was there—reguardless of a fine----"i would have asked “who fricken paid you”
