He’s fringe.
If I’m Chicago, I draft a QB high (in the draft, I’m pretty sure they were high when they drafted the last two QB’s), and go after one of the good backups, and make it an open competition.
He is damaged not sure if he can be repaired . Damaged by the Staff early an now new staff trying to rebuild. Goff came here from a good organization an we saw what he went through his first season an half .
Fields is not coming from a strong staff his first two years an now he has whole new one again. He will not recover staying in Chicago. He might if traded to a team that can fix him.
I would turn Fields into a Kordell Stewart 2.0.
He is such a weapon running the ball. Run reverses, toss plays, he’s athletic enough to run some routes…AND he’s always a threat to throw. You could play with 2 QB’s on the field.
Where do I stand on Justin Fields?
Well…I don’t stand on him. If I did stand on him, I would probably stand on his lower back…just seems the most stable spot, as not to fall.
As for how I feel about him as a QB? I love that he’s on a different team in our division. If Chicago decides to move on from him at some point, I look for Kwesi to trade for him. Fantastic. Love me some extra bye weeks.
If Ridder fails this season I wonder if they make a trade with Chicago.
That makes all the sense in the world for everybody involved.
Especially if Chicago is picking once or twice before ATL
Fields in ATL would be like Hurts in Philly or Lamar in Balt
I think he will make the spectacular play here and there but fail to play with consistency needed to run a top 10 offense. I also think the Bears have damaged him and he needs to start over somewhere else.
Get him away from Matt Nagy and Luke Getsy and see what it does with him.
Fields in Ben Johnson’s system (for example) is a totally different player than he is now.
Coaching is a real big reason along with Personal choices, to why Chicago is where they are rn
Fields without a doubt has potential, but hes also very flawed in some aspects.
give him a solid coach, oline, we saw what he did vs the Commies.
But again, Caleb Williams… Thats really hard to pass by tbh.
Why do any of us care?? ![]()
Fields is in his 2nd year playing on a bad team without good coaching playing the hardest position in football. Yet he is already a bust to some. We’re is the Gibbs love here. You guys judge our guys a whole lot different then you do others. If Gibbs gets a pass then Fields should too. Fields plays the toughest position to learn and Gibbs plays the position that’s easiest.

cuz we have anxious energy to spend & our guys won’t be on until Sunday night

Bro the Lions are a 4-1 team…more threads should be started about that. socko doesn’t normally start threads, but with his style of posting, I’ll bet he wouldn’t be starting threads about Fields if the Lions were 1-4 or 0-5

can’t wait to see how he (& everyone else) responds to a super bowl parade in Detroit

Has anyone given the obvious answer?
His shoulders!
He is the QB for Chicago after all.
If Gibbs gets a pass then Fields should too.
You have a unique perspective on things.
Fields is in his third year, not his second, and has looked largely like crap with a few glimpses here and there.
Gibbs is 39 carries into his rookie year, averaging a respectable 4.6 yards per carry.
How you equate those situations is beyond me.
I refuse to stand anywhere on Justin Fields. He’s 230lbs and would kick my ass.
His shoulders!
My brother from another mother!

That’s because you have Kool aid glasses on.
Yes I was wrong about his years. Alot of QBs take years to get up to speed. It’s a short time with a bad staff. And the comparison is how a 12 over all pic isn’t expected to be on the field and needs all this time. Yet a QB that was a similar project gets bashed here for not being good on a really bad team. Plus there is a hudge difference in the learning curve in QB and RB.
