Tigers - under performing (or performing to how bad they really are) and having to sell at the deadline again.
Pistons - getting better in the margins, nearly maxing out Durren. Failing to get Cade a wingman.
Red Wings - More 2 way Middle 6 ya!
Tigers are pretty much done. Im leaning towards the pistons. Yzerman knows its do or Die. But I think pistons run the same team next year with a minor trade.
The only team that could actually do anything that hasnāt already been done to disappoint me is the Pistons.

I think Yzermanās biggest struggle is the lack of real hope in the fanbase. I have a running theory that it is NOT underperformance that gets coaches and GMs fired. Itās the death of hope. THAT seems to be the one thing that owners canāt stand.
For instance, I remember when I really and truly lost hope in Patricia. Fired soon after. Same with Marinelli. Brady Hoke at Michigan. Juwan Howard at Michigan. Etc, etc.
Itās a āfeelingsballā take that is not based on metrics. But I think Yzerman is dangerously close (some would say in) the zone where the fans donāt have much hope anymore. And THAT is when people get fired.

Yzerman. Heās one of my all time favorite players. It hasnāt worked. They need a major change.
I always wanted him to succeed, but after 25 years of making the playoffsā¦.weāve now gone 10 years without making it in where half the teams make it in. Heās responsible for seven of those years.
Yzerman has had the most opportunities too.
Pistons get a small pass because, what trade or FA the last 2 seasons have you said ādang i wish the Pistons made that moveā for a guy that would have actually wanted to sign or get traded here? I cant think of any.
Tigers and Red Wings have had a lot of chances to make moves get better.
ESPECIALLY the Wings. Theres been at s minimum 3-4 trades that the Wings could have gotten in on. Or 3-4 FA they could have went after in order to get better. Nope. Marginal improvement for 80% of the money or trade chips for both.
Tigers get a pass because i dont believe it would have mattered what they did the last 4 years. They wernt winning a title with out being a top 5 spender. Unfair to ask Chris to sign a check for that much.

they dont make a meaningful move this offseason. They are DEAD to me (which is very sad because the first 25 years of my life they were the only one i cared about) until seismic changes happen in the front office and/or roster ie trading Larkin or even Raymond and Seider. Blow it up then. Id rather blow it up and suck for 5 more years than deal with marginal changes and another March collapse leading to missing the playoffs
