Detroit Lions Bettor Could Win Large Gambling Parlay Packers - Sports Illustrated Detroit Lions News, Analysis and More

Let’s hope he cashes in!

Holy crap. You’ve got to be smart and hedge with a decent-sized bet against the Lions at this point, don’t you?

That’s crazy.

Man, what does it take to call every NFL game before they are played in the 2nd week of the season. Now I hope even more for the Lions to pull off the win tonight, just to say that I once saw someone call every game in the NFL for a week.

Why would you do this though? Or at least why wouldn’t you bet that last MNF game Packers on another slip?

I mean, it’s the worst game on the slate…if you bet GB, I’m sure it was like -340 or something…and your payout for $25 drops from $750K to maybe 100K at worst, right?

That dude is both lucky and greedy. And he’s going to not have $100K in his account tomorrow when he should.

All or nothing, baby!!!

I wonder how much he bet on the Packers to win once he was in the green on the first 15 legs???

I guess if you get 15 out of 16 right, you should get something . . .

I know, right? I would’ve been scraping together every nickel I could get my hands on to bet the Pack. Yeah, it would’ve sucked at -600, but not as much as it would suck to come out of that with nothing.

Good PR move by the casino to stay in the news cycle by giving the guy something.

It’s a parlay, the bet was already made, unless you mean like a hedge bet?!

One of the guys I work with hit on a bet with a 10 game college teams parlay but he only bet $5, still won $785.

And he was one win away from hitting on a 13 game parlay as well…but he lost the first game of the bet, so he wasn’t that upset at that point.

I meant betting the money line on the Packers completely independently of the initial parlay as a way to hedge. If he could’ve scraped together $60,000 to bet on the Pack, he would’ve guaranteed at least a +10k day for himself.

It’s an interesting mental exercise (for me, at least) - how much liquid cash could you put your hands on with no advance warning in the course of a single Monday for a sure-thing? I assume you’d have to bet across several casinos? I’m not a gambler. That would be a frenetic day.

Depends how many banks are close to the casinos

Fanduel has a “Spread the Love” bet for Rutgers vs Michigan. For every 500 bettors, the line moves 1 point…it’s basically just a promo that gives you a free $22. It’s just to get you to deposit some money and make the bet.
