I thought someone would have been compiling this for us by now. Basically high RAS, team captains, breaths football, versatile. I feel like they have to have 3 of those things to even make the lions draft board. I don’t follow college enough to know who they are but guess some of you do.
Rueben Bain, D’Angelo Ponds, Blake Miller, Francis Mauigoa, Spencer Fano, Keionte Scott, Zion Young, TJ Parker, Monroe Freeling (not a captain, but probably would have been), AJ Haulcy, Kyle Louis, off the top of my head, but there are more.

Why do people keep saying this? I think of all the teams in the NFL the Lions have proven they don’t give a rats ass about any RAS score. In fact they are more likely to take a player like Branch or St Brown because other teams may frown on their athletic testing. The Lions like players that live and breathe football. I’d love to get a couple 6 ft CBs but if the 5’9” guy tackles better he will be our guy.

It’s just his frame. He’s not the sort of “beast” we tend to prefer at OL. He’s got a thin frame, thin shoulders and thin hips which is why I think he can struggle with power. So it’s nothing against his characted, just the physical stuff. His ability to flex inside to center - where I think me might not care about that as much - is the only reason I still included him.
He is all of those things, but he wasn’t as good of a run defender as he should be for his size, and I don’t know what we’ll think about that. I love him too and think (or more like hope) he will come around - he should be able to given his strength, motor and attitude - but he hasn’t yet.
Because before Branch he’d been the highest RAS drafter in the league over his first 2 drafts, even with ARSB included. I think he’s still in the top 6-7. But he WILL take RAS outliers, which makes focusing on it moot.
There have been analysis of this, we are one of the highest ranking RAS drafters in most drafts on average. I haven’t seen the report of every year but we are usually top 10.
The RAS score is meaningless when it comes to selecting a player in the NFL draft. Teams do have their own set of parameters in how they view each position. For instance a team may see the ideal for an OG is 6’4” 320. They may set plus or minus beyond 2 inches as an outlier. If he is under 6’2” or over 6’6” he is not the ideal fit. If the weight is plus or minus 15 lbs. If a player is over 335 or under 305 he is not ideal. That player would be an outlier. I don’t think we are as strict with these parameters as other teams are. In a RAS score there are no parameters. The taller you are the higher your score, the more you weigh the higher your score. It just doesn’t work that way in the NFL.

ELITE RAS. Small school. Mid round grade.
Most boards have him an Early 5th round pick.

Not exciting, but sounds like us all the way. Of course he’s a day 3 guy, and those are rarely exciting.

He is another one of those guys that may have had a better season on paper in 2024. I think the attention he saw with more double teams actually opened up more opportunities for Anthony and the other Duke front.

Agreed. Honestly there are a ton of guys who fit us on day 3, though that makes sense. The guys who turn themselves into NFL prospects without day 1 or 2 traits usually have the work ethic and love of the game that help to separate them from the rest.
