Who do you think get's cut after TC?

this is ok, all I keep worrying about is our defense and it’s been that way for at least 5 years.

Actually met some dudes on the 4th of July that grew up and went to HS with the legend Tom Kennedy.

Said he’s been the man since he came out the womb

well IF we have 90 now and got to trim down to 53, that’s 37 we need to trim.

We actually had 92 going into last week before TA got cut.

Which leaves me to believe they were going to release him weather he was out on patrol or not

All about injuries, innit?

The offense has elite guys and have been an elite offense over the last few years, for the most part, because they’ve stayed pretty healthy.

On paper, this fully healthy defense would be crazy - w/four elites (Kerby, Branch, Hutch, JC) and at least two additional high-end guys (Alim, Reed). But we won’t see that D fully realized this year and possibly never.

Great topic, Wolfcub.

I think Vaki is too important for special teams to get cut. He might still be RB4, though. I don’t think we have enough at TE from any of the competition for Wright to get cut. I agree on Meeks, I don’t think he brings enough to the table to get on the roster – both Wilson and Kennedy have more upside as WR5. Right now I like Kennedy.

Strickland is interesting. If Kerby can’t go, he’s battling Jackson for S5 – but then maybe we don’t carry 5 safeties?

I’m really unsure what the roster composition will be as far as splits between offense and defense. I could see 23 on offense and 27 on defense – and if so, who’s more important for those last two spots on defense? If we’re playing a lot more nickel, do we keep only 5 linebackers?

I used to count on Branch, KJ, and Alim-but they have been inured for awhile and n ot playing- Kerby being the healthiest in some way. but I don’t fully count on them for full or important games.

I’ll have a better idea after seeing any of training camp.

Cuts down to 0 to ensure our first injury free season.

Well duh. Doesn’t mean you should cop out!

I guess if you wanna have fun and have nothing to do…but speculating on roster moves for the end of August at the beginning of July seems like an excercise in futility.

Kind of like trying to guess who the LIons are going to draft in 2027. Way too much happening between now and then to even get close.

This is part of the problem around here imo. I’m not referring to you by any means…but I think our defense gets unfairly graded because our offense is literally so elite. It’s the best offense since 2023. And when healthy, our defense has been very solid. We’ve just been snake bit by injuries. A defensive coordinator doesn’t get a HC job if your defense sucks.

Have some luck on the injury front and the complaints about a weak defense should fade. But it still probably won’t because the other side of the ball is so good.
