Who is the best quarterback in the league right now?

In your personal opinion, who is the best football player to play the QB position?

I don’t know if this will be a consensus, or if it will be an interesting discussion, but that’s why I’m trying this thread idea out.

I think it’s Mahomes, because I think he might be the most talented player to ever play the QB position.

Rodgers, by a long shot, if you are talking straight talent.
Brady, as far as impact on a team (because he’s a better leader)

Mahommes and Allen are pretty close, but very different.

Brady and it’s not even close. Winning Championship is what it’s all about.

Aaron Rodgers…the god king. I love Mahomes and he has every opportunity to overtake Rodgers some day. But the Super Bowl was a clear indication that he’s not there yet and some of us put the cart ahead of the horse. There were basic things that tripped up Mahomes that Rodgers has dealt with for years and handled better.

Give me The God King.

Allen sure was impressive last year. His first 2 seasons were mostly below average and then he exploded in his 3rd year. It’ll be interesting to see if he keeps improving.

Gotta agree with you here as much as I hate to say it, Rodgers and Brady.

I think mahomes is great, but, longevity and consistency he still needs to show. You can be a great qb for a few years but doing it for 10-15 years is another story.

I think it’s Rodgers because he doesn’t come out as slow as Mahomes does and he’s pinpoint accurate at all 3 levels. For as good as Mahomes is, and he’s who I’d chose to build a franchise around, he’s still streaky at times.

If you watched him play last year…it was Josh Allen.

If you let other writers make up your mind…well…

Brady. I think it’s just a tad amusing to hear people say Rodgers over Mahomes because he’s only had 1 championship, or he struggled in the playoffs last year, etc. But then in the next sentence blow smoke up Rodgers ass as if he hasn’t only won 1 championship and choked(or complained about others) in his other appearances. If the goal is to win championships then the best QB has to be Brady. The guy just elevates every team he’s on. It’s not always about the rocket arm, or the overall athleticism otherwise Michael Vick would have probably been the greatest QB in NFL history

For one year, next year . . . it’s Rodgers.

Brady… Brady… Brady… and- BRADY!

Rodgers is the single most overrated QB of all time. His team is coached to relentlessly hold. Both tackles, every down… every week, and like WWE level wrestling!

Nobody gives Cousins credit for even being decent and yet 2 of last 3 seasons cousins has bested Rodgers in TDs and in QB rating

Rodgers has played in a mid tier division, has a crazy home court advantage, and yet still has 1 ring?

Brady has won with Evans, Godwin and company, but also from white, Edelman, etc

No reason to read beyond this statement.

Erin is the most talented I’ve seen, and Brady is the best of all time.

It’s difficult to compare QBs from different eras because the rules now are just short of flag football compared to when guys like Ronnie Lott were patrolling the secondary.

From that era of football, I’d say Dan Marino.

From the more current era of football, Aaron Rodgers. If he had played in NE instead of Green Bay, Belichick might’ve won even more Super Bowls.

If you’re picking one to start the 2021 season, I’d go with Tom Brady.

Long term going forward, obviously, Mahomes is the choice.

Jared Goff without a doubt.

When he builds enough trust in his OL and the system, he’ll be a leaning toward upper Esch, for sure top 1/3.

Brady.

I would say that not only rules have changed, but expectations. There have been so many changes in the way guys are coached that are so much better than back in the day. But even film study is lightyears better and more efficient than back in the day. College QBs pass more and NFL QBs can learn faster. The old standards don’t exist anymore. We EXPECT average starters to perform like franchise QBs of the past. We expect backups and even 3rd stringers to come in on short notice and perform better than starters years ago.

So true. People are getting bigger, stronger, faster too. The teams I coached would have beaten our ass so bad (the teams I played on).

While it is true that people are athletically superior to the old schoolers, the old schoolers were wired differently and had that advantage.

Coach Dan will be bringing some ownership of self, old school tough guy shit to blend in with the modern way too. This is gonna be fun.
