Ragnow has the voice of an angel… Thx for asking
Dave Bing is no slouch either. Both would sing Jamel Dean under the table.
Guarantee it, @stephenboyd57 …just a matter of finding the footage.
I’m sorry @dndlion not trying to ruin your thread.
You may get more votes though it if has a lot of replies.
That was a tough one. For me, it was between Bing and Frank.
I will never forget working in South Carolina for a summer when I was in college. (North Myrtle Beach). A couple pals told this older guy that they played Frank Sinatra for their girlfriends. Old guy looked like his head would explode.
This old guy gave them hell for doing so. He told them “You can’t do that…Don’t you realize what happens when you play Frank for girls? They are like putty in your hands…”
Almost 35 years later and I can still see the veins popping out of his forehead.
I always thought Dean was underated as a singer due to his comedy days with Jerry. All 3 are great, but I like Dean the best.
I love Sinatra’s duets that he did towards the end of his life. The pundits rate them low because Sinatra’s not in his prime and doesn’t have the same singing voice. But I love his coarser voice and the high notes are more than covered by his singing partners. Great albums Duets I and II.
Now, put Tony Bennett in there and you have a horserace
Frank, Mel, Tony, Andy, Nat, Bing. DeanO down a tier with Perry, Louie and a few.
More modern set- Al Jareau, Jon Hendricks, Mark Murphy, Bobby McFerrin, George Benson, Gregory Porter, Kurt Elling
that’s a great take. agree!
While I am a big Dean fan, it isn’t like you are going to have a bad choice amongst the three.
Dean, and its not even close.
Thanks, my bro!
