I’ve looked at that Silverado in the past and didn’t hear great things about it from a few owners I know. What kind of mileage do you get?
I’m currently looking at the newer Honda Passport or the Grand Highlander Hybrid. My mechanic told me get the 3.5 V6 from Toyota as they last forever…
Lots of miles every year so mileage and I drive them til they die.
I was considering the diesel Tahoe as well but heard the newer small diesel engines from GM/Chevy do not last.
If you are commuting for your job, I would not get any truck if you want good mileage, unless you are hauling a lot of sales suplies and demo equipment.
GM had problems with some of their 8 cylinder engines. The 4 cly turbo charged is a champ. In fact you can get it in smaller vehicles. I have the 2.7L TurboMax in my truck.
This is so true. The other things I noticed is if they have a personalized license plate they will drive like an idiot and if they have the Coexist bumper sticker they will drive slow and cut you off.
I’m seeing more of these and round a’bouts are also being utilized more and more. Seen several at the top of interstate off ramps.
In theory it eliminates the left turn congestion on the highways, have a few of these in my area and they work pretty well.
May take a bit of getting used too but no long backups on busy roads to make a left on to the interstate. Typically, ones I’ve dealt with, are on 6 lane roads, very busy roads.
My first stop in SE Asia was Hanoi. I remember the son of the Vietnamese family we were staying with talking us through it. They had family in LA and he was very westernized. Spoke perfect English and loved American cinema.
“Have you seen Indiana Jones?”
“yes”
“the one with James Bond as his father!”
“the last crusade? Yes. I’ve seen it.”
“Remember the invisible bridge. He crosses it by faith. That’s how it is. Have faith in motor bikes. Slow and steady walking and they will all miss you.”
He was spot on. Still a bit terrifying that first time.
