Tough call as so many players I really enjoy watching and great people off the field as well as on the field.
I’m going to agree with @wolfcub36 and go with Goff. The main reason is looking at how he came to Detroit, the narrative the media tagged him with. The challenges in LA whether his play or his coach not believing he was good enough.
Then to see this CA kid come to Detroit and just embrace the city and culture. Mentally tough, grittier than many realize.
Is the most talented on the roster , no, Sewell has that hands down but just enjoy seeing him overcome and never stop pushing forward.

It’s Goff for me.
The whole back story with the Rams gives him an “island of misfit toys” kind of feel, which is exactly what the city of Detroit is. It really endeared me to him.
We have a really good QB, and a great man…thank you Mcvay.

It’s really tough but doesn’t it feel good to have so many choices because of how good this team is? I picked Hutch but could easily go Sewell, St, Jamo, Gibbs or Goff. I’ll stick with Hutch on a technicality….i was praying that he’d fall to the Lions where as Sewell fell to the Lions but I didn’t think he would, didn’t know St. Brown and I didn’t think the Lions would pick Jamo or Gibbs where they picked them!

There are a lot of characters on this team that I really like and whose jersey I would gladly hang in the man-cave, but Sewell is Barry/CJ talent with St. Brown/Speilman ferocity. He is Joe Thomas talent at OT with the shoulders to carry an entire franchise.
My Mt Rushmore of sports figures has:
Mike Tyson
Serena Williams
John Elway
Stevie Y
Sewell will knock someone off that list, probably Stevie Y.
Talent, heart and a strong back to carry an entire franchise. That’s Sewell. Best Lions pick ever. Pure dominance with shoulders broad enough to carry an entire league, let alone franchise.

It’s interesting you compare Sewell to Joe Thomas, which is not bad at all, but I always though Orlando Pace when it came to Sewell!
