Who stays? Who goes?

Haven’t seen this discussion started so I figured I’d get it going. Here’s who i’d like to keep:

Roy Lopez - I think we really like this guy.. he’s got high praise from our coaches all season and even before the season. And I think we did a good job of hiding him via limited snaps. I think he replaces DJ Reader as our other vet DT.

Grant Stuart: I really liked him in pre-season. He plays fast and with his hair on fire. I think if he ever had to really see the field he would have impressed ala Rock Ya-sin but our linebackers managed to stay really healthy this year. But I think he has a chance to stick as a ST ace and captain while competing for a starting position with

Rodrigo: love him and after the injury he ain’t getting more money elsewhere. Good depth.

Zach Cunningham: I’d like to keep him. I remember wanting him when he was coming out of college but his speed was questionable. I think he’s really really quality depth and had the attitude we love. I think it’s a matter of will he return or try for more playing time/money elsewhere

Rock Ya sin: I’d like to keep him. I was really surprised he decided to sign with us because I thought he was talented enough to go to a team with a greater need and opportunity to start. He took a gamble and it paid off but I love his play style and love that he also was repping at safety. I prefer him over amik Robertson who at this point I think I not worth keeping over someone developmental which I think we draft.

GOING:

Dj reader:. Times up. Disappointing this season and we have too much young depth moving on.

Anzalone: I loved him his whole time here and was glad he stayed. Kinda sad that he didn’t get to leave last year when he was at his peak and cash in on such a great season. And then the lions played hardball with underpaying him. His morale has been down for a while and all season I kinda felt like he knew something we all didn’t know about this season. I think he moves on.

Raymond: I love him and think he’s been highly underrated as a receiver this season. He’s made some clutch plays. I think his time is up though. Hopefully Lovett can replace him but also wouldn’t mind a RB who can be a Gibbs style replacement and KR/PR so we get rid of saylors. While vaki can finally take over the Reynolds role.

onwuzirike/paschal/davenport:. Cut these injured bums. Thanks for your service

AQM: would be great to keep him but I think he’s simply solid depth and will cost too much. It’s more likely we expect hassenein to take over that role and we get a starter via FA or draft to replace Davenport.

Kyle Allen:. I thought he was decent in preseason. And think he’s stats But honestly I feel like we need to draft someone with a bit more mobility like hooker to develop. And would prefer that spot go to him.

Everyone else I’m indifferent/ignorant about.. what do you guys think?

DT DJ Reader

Honestly, it’s fairly straight forward. Only one I’m on the fence about is Leaf, but he’s come up big when relied upon.

My only change to your list Nate would be to keep Amik, AQM and one between Thomas and Maddox.

True about leaf.

What’s so straight forward about cutting grant Stuart? Our curent ST captain?

And why so high in zylstra after all these years? This was his time to shine with Brock and Sam out.

I want AA and Maddox to stay. The rest can go. Especially Amik Robertson. He can take his bad reluctant tackling, covering skills and his punch the ball out somewhere else.

You know

I get why people would be reluctant to not sign AQM but like…

11.5 sacks, i get that hes streaky, but we have been bitching about a DE 2 for along ass while, and hes been legit solid this year

if hes in our price range, id keep him, and grab a young DE in the draft just so we could have a rotation.

Adios, everyone else.

Getting rid of that many 2025 rostered players signifies that, indeed, we were not good.

I think people way underappreciate Anzalone. He may want to much and we certainly need to look for his replacement but he is one of the top cover linebackers in the league.

Could be wrong but thought Levi’s contract would have tolled due to injury so he will be back here next year playing on the one year deal he signed last off season.

I like Anzalone and started a thread when I was puzzled about why Holmes underappreciated him earlier this year. I just didn’t include him because I don’t see any way Holmes brings him back.

I didn’t notice Malcolm Rodriguez. He must stay! Amik can kick rocks while he’s at it.

I would keep AA for a decent price but I am also hoping if he leaves we play less base defense.

I am fine letting Leaf walk. Might be in minority here but we have 3 solid WR’s and a good TE ahead of him. He is fine on PR but honestly thought Kennedy did good on KR.

keep AQM, Lopez, Stuart (ST), Maddox, Harper, Rodrigo and Allen.

I think Rock Ya Sin played well enough to make himself to expensive.

Amik was on track to become to expensive but struggled this year. I’d love him back on same deal he’s on now tho.

He’s been truly a stud! His coverage skills are great! I guess he made it look easy.

It wasn’t even like we didn’t have the money. That one baffled me too. That’s why I think he’s gone whether we like it or not. It felt disrespectful and it wasn’t even my money or contract.

I don’t think he’ll be more expensive thst what we were paying Amik.. I think we just put that money in rock. Rick seemed to love the opportunity to work with Townsend. So maybe he won’t ask for too much

Rock Roy Maddox-Priority, spend decently but wisely

Rodrigo, Allen, Cunningham, Stuard-Cheap depth

AQM, Levi- Cost dependent as well as how we solve DE DT issues in front of them. Probably wint soend on AQM if we get Trey or Maxx

Keep in mind that Ennis Rakestraw is returning, They both play the same position.

Maddox is a smurf an is 29 likely 30 by camp time If I am a GM no CB signed who is 30+ , This good year for LBs in draft. AA will not be back is my guess. Rock i keeep In another post look at the Seahawks secondary they have 3 UFAs I would like 2 if possible one will get big money. I would like to add couple LBs in draft one as a rush outside LB speed an size. Major need is a Center . I would put major cap money into a quality Center. If decker is retiring then rd 1 or 2 Ot if he stays rd 2 or rd 4 OT to have year to learn an be able to start later in season.
