There’s pros and cons to everyone I’m considering, and I’m very glad that our team is good enough for me to actually ask this question. I’m going to present those pros and cons below and then add in the poll.
Firstly, this jersey will be a new, blue home jersey. I already have a new black Jared Goff jersey, and I’m not nearly as big of a fan of our new away jerseys as I am the new home jerseys.
Second, I would like to add that I already have an old Jamo #9 blue jersey and an old St. Brown #14 jersey, in addition to the new Jared Goff #16 black jersey. Because we have so many different players in consideration, I’m going to omit Goff, Jamo, and St. Brown from this poll since I’d like to get someone new.
So…who’s in the running?
Penei Sewell:
Pros: Team’s best player, 58 not a bad number, one of my favorite Lions
Cons: Is an offensive lineman
Aidan Hutchinson:
Pros: Face of the defense/is recognizable, 97 is a good jersey number
*Cons: I was thinking about getting a white Hutch jersey down the road, 97 not the best number on the blue jersey
Sam LaPorta:
Pros: Very good, offensive skill player, 87 not a bad jersey number
Cons: Not very recognizable right now
Jahmyr Gibbs:
Pros: Very good, offensive skill player, went to Bama, one of my favorite Lions, 26 not a bad jersey number
Cons: A youth sized Jahmyr Gibbs blue jersey is going to get framed for the place I’m going to live in at school…might not want two of those around.
Brian Branch:
Pros: Very good, our best DB as of right now, went to Bama, one of my favorite Lions
Cons: 32 is not a good jersey number IMO
Terrion Arnold:
Pros: Went to Bama…and is the only active Lion that I technically went to school with, 0 is an absolutely badass jersey number, going to be one of my favorite Lions
Cons: Hasn’t played a snap (we don’t know if he’s actually going to be good even though we all think it), will be at best our #2 corner next year (we think), rookie jerseys can only be pre-ordered right now as they’re still making them…so I would have to wait longer to get it/have to decide what city it should get delivered to before I know when it’s supposed to arrive
So there you have it. That’s all the contenders I can think of off the top of my head. Feel free to point out someone really good that I left out. (isn’t our roster just amazing?) I’m torn between getting a cooler looking jersey of a player I really like or just getting a jersey of one of the team’s best players.

P.S. Feel free to grammar police this post. I feel like I made a bunch of errors, but since it’s summer, I’m not going back over it right now.
Also P.S. I can’t guarantee I will follow the results of this poll, but there’s like an 85% chance that I’m going to get the jersey of the winning player from this poll.
If I buy another jersey, I’d probably go St Brown. He’s extended so I know he will definitely be here awhile and he is just an awesome person and player.
The only other active player I have is Hutchinson.
Only 3 current jerseys worth getting IMO. The 3 guys who extended, will be here awhile, and thank goodness, the 3 best players on the team.

That’d be my order, and I personally wouldn’t consider Hutch at this point. Never know what could happen.
Some of your cons are wierd as hell but to each their own.
If it was me i would rank whos my favorite, how long do i think they’ll be around, who do i enjoy watching the most on game day. Things of that nature.
I wouldn’t spend a second of my time thinking “he’s an offensive lineman or he’s not very recognizable”.
Just pick who you enjoy, to hell with everything else.
I went the DH Gate route. For $30, I took a chance on the young man. Went with Arnold. But hey if it turns out nice, you can knock out four on your list for $120 bucks.
This thing is so nice. I want a blue one now for sure. Possibly a white one also to complete the collection.
Branch is my favorite player, but with anyone else I’m like you, I don’t know who to get. It’s easy to go with Goff, ARSB, Sewell, and Hutch, but I like to go with a fav great player that’s less popular. Although I am strongly considering Sewell. I thought about Arnold, but like you said he hasn’t played yet, and I’m not sure he’ll keep 0.
Everything THIS! Not sure what’s considered a bad number. 32, for example, is a great number especially for a DB. You’re picking a player, and that’s their number. You seem like someone who should probably just get a custom jersey with the number 1 on it.
It’s exactly like what’s said here. Pick your fav player. That’s what I did with Branch. Thats the most important. Heck, the last jersey I owned was Champ Bailey from the Broncos. Who didn’t even play for this team. Then yes, a player who should stick around. A guy on a rookie deal especially if you know he’s going to get extended. Like Hutch. Or a guy like Sewell who just got extended and will probably be a Lion for life.
Can’t go wrong with Sewell. I just went Arnold because it was cheap and damn his energy is infectious. He could get hurt in preseason which will suck. Or he could take the league by storm and I’ve already got it.
