Gibby will get there and do all the moves Monty has, but it will be WAY slower if he’s not getting many snaps.
So you are telling me that he will last longer while we still win games?
Great feedback from Eckler. How cool to read about thoughts from a dynamic nfl player currently playing the same positikn
That is as a really cool take from a PB back. Was nothing disrespectful and really insightful.
I said this in another thread but would love to hear in the offseason that Gibbs is working out with Ekeler.
I kept saying preseason that I didn’t understand why Gibbs was getting so much hype in the DEN but Monty was not. I expected Monty to be our primary back from week one. He’s such a hard runner between the tackles and he gets the tough yards you need on 1st down.
I am a little disappointed that neither Monty nor Gibbs have broken a big play yet. Monty had some big runs in CHI and his career longest is 80 yards but in DET his longest is 16 yards. Almost every year Monty busts at least one run for 40+. Gibbs is a home run threat and has yet to bust a big one. He did have a 21 yarder vs ATL but has not really been the homerun threat I had hoped. I had hopes these two would be more explosive than Williams and Swift were but so far they have not been. I do think they are due and I wonder if our downfield blocking needs to improve?
Carolina’s run defense has been a little suspect so maybe it happens this week!
I look at that as kinda a good thing. We have still been running the ball well without breaking anything more than 15-20 yards. Although Kalif did drop a 40 yarder on a reverse.
The long runs will come eventually as long as we stay at it. We’re currently 10th in the nfl for rushing yards per game. Break a couple long ones and that’ll jump to top 5.
That just means we’re overdue in the law of averages.
There’s nothing like a RB busting out and 80yarder at home on the first play of the game to set the tone.
I’m calling it. 50+ yard run from Skillet this week
Wow. Excellent find.
Don’t hurt Thurman.
