Why Richardson must be contained by Lions defense on Sunday

This will lead to TA’s first pick!

It is good for the Lions to see a big strong mobile QB before the big test against Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills. This is one area where the Lions have struggled. Richardson is a horrible QB but a tremendous athlete. It will be very good for the Lions to get some work in against him this week.

So in general I think hold under 20 should win. Score over 30 should win.

This is a Dome game so I expect the Lions to hit both of those targets. But I could see Richardson having a banner day and the Lions win 34-23

Richardson is a young risk taking QB. So those characters can sometimes defeat the fates and have monster games. But in general, I just do not think Indy has enough across the board to beat the Lions. As a side bet, I could see him leaving the game after getting lit up by BB. Richardson tends to think he is Earl Campbell at times.

The thing we all need to remember. The Lions are now the measuring stick. So teams will be gearing up. And if they do not gear up they will get gutted. So they have almost no choice to focus up or the run the risk of getting run over.

He’s been contained all year.

Source: my last place fantasy team.

I don’t see Richardson as all that elusive. He’s big, fast, and he’ll try to run you over. So don’t get run over if you can help it. And lay all kinds of hits on him. His career will be short.

He really doesn’t even run that much. 400 yards rushing in 11 career starts. He also has fumbled 5 times his last 3 starts. Go for the ball.

He’s no Justin Fields. Maybe someday he’ll be good enough to be Russell Wilson’s lackey.

Everything I’ve seen about Richardson screams “Poor man’s Cam Newton”. He is dangerous because of the run and the risk that he might connect on one of his deep balls. He hasn’t shown any ability to keep a drive going if he has to accept shorter passes, so as long as AG’s team can keep him in the pocket and make him go through his progressions I’m not all that worried. Focus on defending the run with Richardson and Taylor and we should be good. If Richardson wants to attack with the pass he will risk throwing picks to Branch and Kerby. Those dudes zero in on errant passes like sharks to wounded fish.

Colts 28:09 average

Lions 31:09 but this last game it was 39:00!

Don’t be surprised if we win the coin toss and keep the ball…!
