AFC – As of today

  • Bengals are the 1st team officially done for the season
  • Jets, Dolphins are both officially eliminated from the divisional race (Top 1-4 seeds) but still mathematically alive for WC

NFC – As of today

  • Cardinals are both officially eliminated from the divisional race (Top 1-4 seeds) but still mathematically alive for WC.
  • Falcons, Bucks and Giants are officially eliminated from the 1st seed only.
  • Washington is officially eliminated from all seeds but #4 for the division.

Because of the key additional losses by other teams, we are NOT eliminated from any seed!!

NO clinching this week for any of the top 6 NFC teams!!

AFC – next week’s possibilities

  • Dolphins are be eliminate from playoffs all together
  • Jets can only be eliminated from the 5th seed… alive one more week for the 6th
  • Broncos can be eliminated from top 2 seeds.
  • Browns, Jags, Chargers all can be eliminated from the 1st seed.

NO clinching possibilities this weekend!

NCF - next week’s possibilities

  • Redskins can be completely eliminated this Sunday if we beat them!
  • Giants can be eliminated from the 3rd and 6th seed
  • Bucs are weird this week as they can be eliminated from the2nd, 4th, 5th and 6th seed. But, will stay alive one more week for the 3rd.
  • Falcons can be eliminated from the 2, 4 and 5th seed.
  • Cards can be eliminate form the 5th but alive for the 6th one more week.
  • Bears can be eliminated from the 1st seed only.
  • Philly has (YIKES!) 59 ways to be eliminated from the 1st seed only.

For our Lions, 15 games over week 10 & 11 were factored into this process…

We can officially be eliminated from the 1st, 4th &5th seed. Because of the hawks winning this weekend and the prior weekend in OT in both games…. We are fighting for the 6th seed and divisional title is still mathematically alive.

We should beat the skins…so, we’ll probably lose.

And the is a cool paradox as well!

If Seattle beats the eagles, it hurts us for the playoffs seeding. But it helps more as it’s a win against a team we are needing to catch and pass for the 6th seed…

Most rational people have figured the Lions have been out of contention from at least the Vikings loss. I have to give you tons of credit for sticking it out to the bitter end.
