Would a trade for Trey Hendrickson make sense for Detroit Lions?

It all makes sense until the draft when our great drafter has no picks.

Just trade our second rounders.

I would love Hendrickson but you will have to pay him and Hutch next year and that’s gonna be a huge number.

Click bait!!!

Holmes is not trading for anyone

He doesn’t believe in pushing your chips in the middle of the table. Reason it is very unlikely we win a superbowl until he actually does.

Plus we got Pat O’Conner

Trade for Hendrickson? No one around here has been beating that drum for months… @Jman

You are very negative and trolly for a team coming off the nfccg and is 2-1 (should be 3-0). But hey at least you are dedicated to your shtick, anyone asking you to take over their franchise yet?

He is playing, not holding out like reddick, i would say you could trade for him and let him play out the year and figure it out. Depending on what you give up you may get a 3rd round comp back for him and davis.

Could be okay without resigning, but again comes down to what Cincinnati needs in return.

His contract runs through 2025, with his 2025 numbers being 16mil.

I think we could make that work and possibly even add a void year and turn some of his base into a signing bonus right? Minimize impact next year and take a relatively small hit when he leaves in 2026

That’s a very good number. Ideal actually.

I highly doubt he plays for that next year though. He almost held out this year, so holding out for a new contract next year seems inevitable.

That being said, I would 100% go for it.

Do you ever tire of posting the same rhetoric time after time?

Like, we get it already. Do you have anything else to say?

He wins because people keep responding to his nonsense.

Like every other troll, ignore him, and he will go away.

I almost made this same thread yesterday. Depends on trade compensation and the contract he wants. With his age, he is not going to get top of market. I would think 3 years, 60mil would get it done.

Hutch’s extension would kick in 2027. Just keep the guaranteed cash up front in Hendricksons deal so he can be let go in 2027 if his play doesn’t warrant the cash.

I’m guessing a 2nd this year and maybe a 3rd next year would get it done considering his age and needing an extension. Mack only got a 2nd and 6th a couple seasons ago when the Bears traded him at 31.

Or until you need to pay Hutch 30 million.

It will cost. But man that defense would be crazy good

Hutch, Hendrickson, Reader, McNeil…with some Levi sprinkled in?

Yikes

I think a lot of what they do/don’t do with the DL is directly related to how much they expect Bro-Mart to grow.

I may have more faith in big B than any of you cats. I love his measurables and his wiring - and I very much believe in our staff’s ability to develop him.

And if all 4 were bald a bigger yikes

I’m very much with you and your thoughts on Bromart. I was, and still am happy that they drafted him. I think he will eventually be a pro-bowl type player.

He isn’t helping us right now, though, and I would be all for adding ‘the right guy’ to help us win a superbowl this year.
