Would This Fix the OL?

You think Lindenbuam is an 8?

I’m not a huge fan of Proctor but then again, like most here, I’m not exactly qualified to grade him.

I do believe it’s vitally important to the success of an NFL franchise to replace aging, high paid players with rookie contract players who have the potential to perform close to or better than the aging vet. This is easily the most important function of the front office. Teams like Philly, SF and the Ravens have done this at a high level recently.

So, can BH replace Decker with a rookie who grades higher than 67 (pff)?

Wha I think is you must have a top 10 center to have a top 10 line.

The center is so crucial that I am now beginning to believe it is as if not more important than the Tackles. I get it that you can help the center but if you need to help him then you gotta have elite Tackles that never need help which is hard when people overload a side it do a double gap blitz to the middle of the line.

So I am hoping for a top 10 FA center if one is available and fits the overall cost structure the Lions can afford. With Decker out I feel like the Lions have some serious bread to spend

See I disagree with this. There are plenty of really good offenses where they just need their center to not be a liability, like all of the SF offenses under Shanahan, or Miami under McDaniel before this past season, or the Rams or Seahawks. They don’t have top 10 centers.

However, the way we run our scheme we do require a good center.

I keep expecting this to be revealed as a prank in which he’s actually a baseball player. Venezuelan Utility player to be exact.

I think there probably is one?

For sure. Utility infielder is a chain franchise in Venezuela.

I know when I googled the football player the other day, he was not the first athlete who came up

It’s like the Middle East and oil and gas. If the Venezuelan regime ever does anything that constricts the flow of slick fielding middle infielders then the world has problems.

Ooh, Jose’s kid is Enrique, looks like he is, or was, in the Astros FO

And his grandpa was Jose. Did Enrique’s mom think he was too good for Jose or something. Thank god that the Starling Thomas clan didn’t suffer from that same lack of resolve.

Proctor as a LOG who could maybe play four OL positions has serious upside. I also didn’t mention draft picks outside rd. 1. You wanna bring swagger/bully ball back have Proctor, TyLeik Williams, Sewell and Alim McNeil walk off the bus first.

I respect the hell out of Thats2 and I recommend folks go back and read his thoughts. Proctor might be a special people moving guard.

FA Center options are not great. The Cards center/Hoffman is likely best case situation now.

Wills would be a solid guy for us. 27, has played well in the league AND AVAILABLE!!!

I stand by my plan.

Sounds like a decent plan to me. But its hit or miss around here with Proctor. Some like him some hate him. I like him. He and Faulk are my 1A and 1B first round picks.

Again, I do firmly believe that, but I’d prefer not to spend 17 on it. Admittedly much of that is because there are tackles I think will be available there and we need tackle much more than we need guard, especially if we’re not planning to shift Tate inside. Just very difficult to justify a guard in the first round.

Honestly, I really do think it’s time for Sewell to move to the left side. He’s been so good, and he’s getting LT money, and he’s praised as the best or one of the best. He needs to transition. RT’s are easier to obtain. And if they do decide on drafting Proctor I think that would be his best spot to succeed. .

I’d be fine with that.

I think we should all be preparing for Cade Mays to be our next center.

Happy Good News GIF

But I agree. Feels like the worst kept secret if we’re reading the tea leaves right.
