I would.
I think I would.
hell no. waste of a pick no offense.
Yeah I would
Sign me up!
he hasn’t been good for three years. I don’t think I’d do it.
Certainly
This is the kind of deal KC should do.
A healthy Barkley on that team especially would be murder
That’s a really interesting one. His injury history is concerning and he hasn’t been elite since 2019. He did miss most of 2020 though, and the Giants had an awful offensive coaching staff last year and A shitty offense.
That would allow Swift to stay fresh and both these guys have the ability to excel on all three downs. May allow both of them to stay healthy not having to handle a large workload.
I thought his value would be a 2nd rounder when I heard he was on the block. I personally wouldn’t trade out 3rd for him. The comp 3rd has me thinking. This would be the best OLine he’s ever run behind.
I think I would go for it because he has shown top 5 RB potential.
Turn back the clock for sure… he’s damaged goods. It would be like acquiring Todd Gurley post surgery.
Gurley has knee issues entering the league and supposedly had a degenerative condition if I remember correctly. Barkley’s injury was a torn ACL.
Joe Judge was an absolutely awful head coach and that offense was an bad as Patricia defenses.
For the record, I’d say a 4th, but we don’t have one. The comp 3rd is the next best thing.
I agree with most of that…But stay the heck away from an injured Saquon
Word…Murder MF’n ass!
On the original question, I wouldn’t drop the phone laughing in a hell no manner. I’d really think about it and unless there was something amiss in the medicals or Barkley’s attitude about coming to the D, I’d probably make the deal.
The thing is he’s got 7 million guaranteed this year, and it’s an expiring contract. 4th rounder feels worth it even tho the lions don’t have one. But certainly nothing more because of the contract situation.
This feels more like a move for a contender. Take a shot for a 4th and some cap space and see if he can get red hot for one season. If he blows up and you win - great let him get paid and you recoup the pick through the comp system. If not, nothing major lost.
I don’t see it being a great fit for the Lions
A comp 3rd? Yes. I can’t see the Giants doing that though.
I’d say “no.” Generally, RBs have short shelf lives–Exhibit A–Todd Gurley–all world in 2017-2018–out of the league in 2021.
Second, he’s going into his 5th year, so he’s going to be an unrestricted FA after the season.
Third, with Swift, Williams, Reynolds, Jefferson, it’s not exactly a need.
Fourth, f the Lions want to draft another RB, there are plenty in the draft.
Lastly, there potentially could be a lot of competition for Barkley.
