I’m not saying you don’t have to invest high draft picks, you do. For the longest time ours got hurt very early in their careers. Kevin Jones, Best, LeShoure, now KeJo and Swift has missed time already. I think all of those guys if they stay healthy are going to be top level type backs. At least with a decent oline and we’ve had our struggles with that certainly. No RB can just run into a wall like Kevin Jones did after his rookie season. But yes, there are highly talented backs in every single draft and this last one was no different. If the Vikes take Clyde Edwards-Helaire one spot before he’s taken by KC, they could let Cook move on after this season and don’t miss a beat. Or they could have traded down for Swift or Taylor. Or traded up for Dobbins or Moss. What they have now is what we have in KeJo. A really good back, when healthy that hasn’t done a very good job of being healthy.
Bush didn’t last either, neither did Joique or LeShoure plus your guys due to injuries. Kevin Smith just got run into the dirt in college and was burned up early in his pro career
The RB luck here has been just terrible.
I don’t think anyone is going to confuse Dalvin Cook with Kerryon Johnson.
I think Cook might just be the best pure runner in the league. I think he’s fantastic and that the contract is reasonable given his skill set. Durability is the concern of course.
Yeah man, I don’t disagree with any of what you said. I just wish the Lions wouldn’t keep making it look so damn difficult!

THIS is the year brother. Swift/KeJo/AP/TyJo/Bo
Okay, this is the part where I suspend reality and KJ has 1,600 yards and 14 TDs this season.
Like I said, no one is going to confuse the two.
