Yup! I feel like I’m in the middle on most things lions football related, but on the right with my specific area of study (what I do for a living). When I talk about what I do for a living, I encounter many from the far left and middle.
As it pertains to college recruits, & other nfl teams…I am aware I can dance in the far left at times, hence keeping my mouth shut.
It’s such a good one for the national pundits who specialize in… nothing. “ I have a surface level understanding of the teams I’m talking about that’s far shallower than even their most casual local fans, and no curiosity to go beyond that, but I feel really strongly about my opinions.”
This can be expanded to many forms of media personalities & sites on a plethora of topics.
That’s probably why so many media companies and personalities are taking hits and contracting.
And, the stronger the contraction pressures become, the louder and more nonsensical the personalities become.
I have to wonder do any of us believe our own bullshit?? I mean first off if any of us could have the platform of those we so heavily criticize as “clueless” do we think it would be any different for any of us?? Especially those of us who think we are more knowledgeable than any of them?? Put any one of us on “Get up” or “First Take” or any of those other shows and we are gonna stand out to viewers?? They’re gonna say “Oh yeah that Richard Parker guy really knows what he is talking about”
So what I am hearing is my next business adventure should be to team up with @Nate and bring out the official Den Podcast. Where we bring on members of the forum to talk out of their ass each week and each guest member gets a small percentage of the proceeds.
Just go to youtube… search the lions and tons of dudes in their basement pretending to be Lions experts. Lol some of them do coach middle school girls basketball. I trust them the most
