Kinda surprised… I figured he’d at least be in on 3rd downs… But I agree it’s about December and the playoffs more than just 1 game. He sure wanted to play though watching his presser.

I’m kinda dubious about Lions personnel tipping their hand like this. I would think there would be a hard and fast rule about disclosing game day roster moves in this way. I could be wrong. But this seems like a very undisciplined way to work with media types than holds no advantage for the team.

Every team does it, just look at Rapoport and Schefter’s feeds today and last night. At this point in the week all the game preparation is done, the players are off or travelling on Saturdays, it’s not really different to finding out when the inactives are announced.

I’d rather the Lions have rested him next week against the Jags at home.
I expected him not to play with this being his bye week originally. It shows what kind of team we are and taking care of our players. Like others have said he was brought in for the playoffs run.
I personally love how we take care of our players and think it’s a big reason the players love Dan.
Not to be negative, just an observation. Should the Lions lose the game, I can’t wait to see the idiot who starts the “MCDC IS A DUMBASS FOR NOT PLAYING SMITH AND HE’S THE REASON WE LOST” topic.

Honestly it should be up to smith. I think lions need to get to Stroud to win this game
