We are better at this losing thing than they are. We have decades more experience at it!

He is probably the most NFL ready out of any QB in this draft.
Since he’s old enough to be a 5 year NFL vet, he better be!
And the only teams that are in the market for a QB on that list are Carolina, Houston (maybe, Mills is actually pretty decent) and New Orleans so there’s a good chance that the Lions will have a shot at one of the top QBs even if they don’t finish last, which I really don’t think they will if they ever get some healthy bodies back.
Who are the top-rated WR and TE, because, well its our actual history to blow out the rest of the league using top 15 picks on these positions.
Dont want to lose our edge…
I’d also like to see a list of how many of them are currently out for the season! then bet heavily on the Lions drafting them.
Ha, was just about to post something similar.
I know it’s a QB league but if we end up with the first pick I hope they take Anderson. He’s probably the best D prospect since Lawrence Taylor. Plus there’s more than one QB that could be a franchise type guy so maybe we can trade up for our guy and still come out of the draft with Anderson and one of Stroud/Young/Levis.
Honestly the age doesn’t bother me. It may even be an asset giving the teams more mature player. Especially since he could still easily play for 12-15 years these days.
I think you can make an arguement for five of the top six teams on that list, Cleveland is the only one not looking for a QB. Denver may not be but they should be imo so I included them. Chicago could also end up considering a QB depending on how Fields performs.
I think Chicago will be forced to give fields at least one more year given the total lack of support they’ve given him. Denver is locked into that stupid contract. They’re not taking a quarterback unless they can somehow trade Wilson. Highly improbable given how he’s played this season.
IDK what the bears will do with Fields
that situation i feel is in limbo tbh
With the roster they’ve surrounded him with the fan base will be furious if you cut him and he thrives on another team. On the flip side they didn’t draft him so if they keep him and he sucks that’s going to be bad for the new front office as well. They’re in a no win situation and I couldn’t be happier about it.
If the number 1 overall pick is in sight, then if we are the SOL, we will win a few games, no?
Yep, in the final 2 games of the season to ensure we can’t draft Anderson Jr. - He will then have a hall of fame career.
I just realized that Philly has New Orleans pick so that takes another team out of the QB race and, damn, imagine if Philly gets a top 5 pick? Unfair
Yeah of course of all the traded 1st-rounders, ours is projected to the worst.
The age only matters in the sense that its a grown man playing against college kids, so it can make him look better than he actually is. History is not kind to those guys coming into the league. We know the Brandon Weeden example. Chris Weinke is another one. I’m not sure if you remember the hype around Jimmy Clausen when he was coming out. He was “the next big thing.” He dominated high school and immediately hit the ground running in college. But people forgot to factor in that he was 19 in high school and he was a 20 year old freshman.
It doesn’t mean he can’t make it. Its just a red flag that what you are seeing and projecting might be an illusion that is nothing more than a talented kid being older and more experienced than his peers. Hooker is in his 6th season of college football. He’s literally on his master’s degree in quarterbacking while playing against kids who are growing into their bodies and trying to learn their head from their ass at their position.
