***2023 OFFICIAL DEN NFL MOCK DRAFT CONTEST***

Rules:

  1. Everyone makes 9 picks - no more no less.
  2. You must list the players full name, position and spot you think they will be drafted at.
  3. You can only select one player per draft spot. Meaning you can’t list two different players to go at 6OA.
  4. You can make changes up until draft day and then a Mod will lock the thread.
  5. All incorrectly done drafts will be deleted or disqualified.
  6. Please keep questions and comments out of this thread. Go to the draft discussion thread. See link below.

Example: 6OA - QB Bryce Young (This is the correct way) DO NOT put down RD1 Young (This is the wrong way) Doing so will get your entry deleted and disqualified.

Scoring system is the 5-3-1 scoring system. With bonus round points.

5pts - For each correct player selected.
3pts - If you select the correct player in the correct draft location. (Location example = 6OA)
1pts - bonus if you select the wrong player but right position in the correct draft location.

For arguments sake on position:
DL counts for Edge, and DT. Just put DL
DB counts for S and CB. Just put DB
OL counts for G, C and OT Just put OL
RB counts for a FB.
LS is an OL.
LB is NOT an EDGE player.

Accepted positions are:
OL, RB, WR, TE, QB on offense
DL, LB, and DB on defense
K, P on Special Teams

The max you could score per correct pick is 8pts.

So let’s say the Lions drafted QB Bryce Young at 6OA if you guessed this correctly you get 8pts

If you guessed 6OA QB - CJ Stroud and we actually select Young you get just 1pt.

But if you predicted the Lions traded up to 2OA - and took Young you would get 5pts.

Then there’s a predict the correct round bonus.

If you select the correct player in the correct round regardless of position you get bonus points.
Round 1 = 1pt
Round 2 = 2pts
Round 3 = 3pts
Round 4 = 4pts
Round 5,6 &7 are worth 5pts each round.

Example: you had the lions trading down and taking CB Devon Witherspoon at 13OA and they take him any where in round 1 you get 1pt bonus.

Example: you correctly picked the Lions taking RB Zach Evans anywhere in round 3 you get 3pts bonus.

Example: you had correctly predicted the Lions drafting QB Clayton Tune round 5 you get 5pts bonus.

So if you nail a later round pick then they are worth more than the earlier round picks.

The Lions draft current order is

Round 1- 6OA and 18OA
Round 2 - 48OA and 55OA
Round 3 - 81OA
Round 5 - 152OA and 159OA
Round 6 - 183OA and 194OA

If you think the Lions will trade down and get more picks in rounds 4 and 5. Great but you still only get to count 9 picks. So use them wisely.

You do not have to predict the trade just the location the player is selected. So if you think the Lions are trading down to 8OA and getting an extra 2nd from ATL then make your picks at 8OA, and again at Atlanta’s 44th OA pick.

Tie Breaker questions. Provide your answers to each one.

  1. How many offensive players will be drafted top 10 in the draft?
  2. How many defensive players will be drafted top 10 in the draft?
  3. How many kickers and punters will be drafted?

There’s a draft contest discussion thread. Ask your questions and make your comments there. Here’s the link if you want to discuss anything. Please keep all discussions out of this thread.

All entries will be locked 24 hours prior to the draft - No entries will be accepted afterwards You may edit your selections up to that point.

All entrants will be responsible for scoring themselves and posting their score in the draft discussion thread post draft - I will double check the top scores
