2024 Draft

You watch the Miami game? When he’s on his game he can be dominant. Admittedly inconsistent of course.

Where is the grit? This does not look like a Brad draft. I guess you could say Zinter has some grit but I don’t see the fit in our offensive line. Under achieving athletes with upside is what I see. Taking BroMart last year was odd to me because he was all potential and of course size.

I did see highlights, and i see the upside

But watching the senior bowl man…

It was just really bad.

Right, that’s the inherent problem with media mocks, they don’t take FO tendencies into account nearly enough. They will once they become common knowledge (like the Seattle CB arm length threshold), but before that it’s just a need-matching exercise.

There are a few people though who try and dig into FO tendencies when they mock, but rarely are they in the national media.

And motor, I think that was highly important to his being drafted by us. Maybe the most important. For a guy that size he has a great motor.

I think the attitude is the problem for us.

Hands are an issue well but I think the Sr. Bowl was more of a mental issue there. He was over 10% with his drop rate at Kent St. Not sure what that was this year. But tbh you see quite a few deep threats with drop rates like that. Still a really talented kid though (IMO). Not my first choice at WR by any means but personally I still like him better than Rice.

Apparently Javon Baker talks about Cornerbacks like they’re in ISIS. He may be a grit fit at WR.

One thing I will say for Tez at the senior bowl he stayed and played in the game maybe a little more than he expected. His team only had 3 WRs available for the game and 1 got banged up early. By the end of the game he was the only true WR left. He was dogged but the kept running him on go routes of course he didn’t catch any of them but he was out there trying.

I’m really curious to see what Brad does in FA. If he signs a guy like Autry to play DE on 1st and 2nd and then slides inside on third, I could imagine him waiting until later to address the DL. I hate that Brad is so unpredictable.

I saw one bad dropped deep ball during the game. He’s getting killed in some others in which IMO he’s either badly underthrown or interfered with.

There is no doubt the televised reps in practices were rough.

I still think he’s likely to run sub 4.4 which will stabilize his stock in the back half of day 2. He better bc if he doesn’t run like that then his stock is likely in free fall.

I just want another burner bc of what I believe it can do for us schematically. By no means does it need to be Tez.

Yeah Sam Hartman was terrible in that game but the continued to let him have all the reps. The receivers didn’t even have a chance to make a play.

Does Green who we drafted last year fit that profile you describe?

Javon Baker is a WR I like if we take ne showed well at Senior bowl. nice size an speed.
Not sure we can get him end of rd 5 an FA will depend if we go get him rd 3.

If there is one WR that I could see as a fit and he may contribute is Ricky Pearsall from Florida. To me he looks like a WR that Goff might use. He is tough and he runs a full route tree. I doubt he will be there in the 5th but I’m not looking to draft a WR before that.

How do you feel about Xavier Worthy if he’s available in the 2nd? Slim, but a great route runner, decent length and fast. By all accounts a hard worker and good kid.

I agree but might be gone before we look for WR I am looking depending on FA end of rd 3

It really does seem the slow mesh was a big part of what made him elite while at Wake. I was way too bullish on him.

Agree with that. I think 2026 will end up being a good QB class but NFL teams don’t have the job security to wait for that.

If I had to bet my money would be on Denver moving up. Maybe Minny too. Caleb, Maye, Daniels and McCarthy could easily all go top ten.
