Rank Michigan bball #1, cowards

It was cool watching them put Goldberg The Goalie in there at the end of the game tonight.

Agreed. Outside of Fears shooting, which was atrocious, Sparty played awesome. They have probably realized that they can at least compete with any team in the league. And Boozer is ridiculous. I would hope Fears never shoots like that again this year.

MSU is hopefully setting up for a crazy 26-27 season. Keeping many of those guys and adding the top class in ncaa. Bball in the state of MI is going to fun to watch the next few seasons.

Problem with msu is the front core players. Can’t have them go for whatever. Carr was terrible as well. Cooper was really good that game

IOWA vs Iowa State, great game.

I haven’t watched any of this game so far @CuriousHusker. Was watching John Cena’s final match. Looks like it’s been close the whole time. What do you think?

We are ■■■■■■■ ass

You are not. Arizona is just very, very good. They can absolutely win the national title. Not ready to call them favorites but they are 100% legit.

Did you watch any of the game?

I watched the second half and the last few minutes of the first half. It was the same story as a few other games. We can’t get a board to save our freaking life. Sherrell needs to learn how to box out. Philon and Holloway resort to shot chucking when we start to lose the lead.

I have no idea why Oats didn’t call a timeout during that run.

Agree about the TOs but not sure it would have mattered. Oats is an awesome coach and I still think you have FF upside. But you are so damn maximalist through and through. Everyone has the green light and your bigs chucking threes really led to that initial run. And while you blocked a ton of shots, everyone was leaving their feet leaving the defensive glass exposed to one of the biggest frontlines in America. Bama had 32 rebounds total. Awaka and Krivas had 29 alone.

Burries has finally woken up. He’s gone from 8 ppg in his first five to 20ppg in his last four. He plays like the latter and they’re an absolute wagon. That they won by 20+ in Birmingham when Peat was a no show is a good tell of what a wagon they are.

I hope we get Michigan-AZ in the final four/final game.

I was worried at halftime last night. Maryland was shooting and making the shit out of 3 pointers.

Then we took over the game again. College teams aren’t supposed to score 100 points all the time like this.

That would have been a great game had Payne not rolled his ankle and Washington then get ejected for the second technical which I thought was pretty ticky tack. At that point already undersized opponent had damn near nothing up front.

First half was entertaining, competitive basketball.

I agree

The elite of college basketball this season is really elite. Arizona, Michigan, Duke, UConn, Iowa State (I’ve always had a soft spot for Cyclones basketball), Houston, Purdue, Michigan State, Gonzaga are all really REALLY good teams. This is shaping up to be an all time great NBA draft as well, at least in terms of early hype, so it’s going to be a fun College BBall season.

Couldn’t agree more. And they’re scheduling each other like crazy which has made for a fun early season.

For instance, Arizona’s schedule is bonkers. Going by Kenpom numbers they play/played:

#13 Florida in Vegas

#31 UCLA in LA

#7 UCONN in Gampel (Storres)

#29 Auburn at home

#15 Alabama in Birmingham

Then they get mostly a reprieve until January 26th at point they play at #9 BYU, then starting February 9th they play:

At #17 Kansas, #24 TTU at home, #9BYU at home, at #8 Houston, at #35 Baylor, #17 Kansas at home and then #2 ISU at Hilton coliseum all in a row in a 21 day stretch. Just absolutely brutal gauntlet in some really tough road environments.

IMO the first tier is:

AZ, Michigan, Duke, ISU, a fully healthy UCONN.

Some really great teams beyond that but if you gave me those five versus the field to win it all I’m taking those five.

If I had to pick a Champion I think I’d roll with UCONN. I think their style and coaching is quite conducive to March success.

Yeah, I was actually saying this on an Iowa State message board that Arizona has built up an insanely good out of conference resume. They dummied the Alabama schools and beat UConn, Florida and UCLA. They and Michigan are looking like the most impressive teams but that tier just below them that I mentioned in my previous post are capable of winning the National Championship. It’s the strongest high end I can remember in college basketball in quite some time littered with high end NBA prospects as well.

Hard to bet against UConn like you said, Hurley always has those guys playing their best in March.

Yeah, i was starting to get nervous too when Maryland was up by 9.
