Well what is he ? You think he’s a bell cow back ?
TBD. I wasn’t as high on him as others - he was 45th overall on my board - but it’s easy to see how he fits with our offense. I also honestly don’t think there’s really such a thing as a bell cow back anymore. Do I expect him to run the ball 20 times a game? No. Do I expect him to improve running inside? Yes.
Jamo coming back will help everything.
Brad Holmes called Gibbs a ‘position-less, multi-dimensional weapon’ and other adverbs too. I don’t believe I’ve ever heard Brad Holmes refer to Gibbs as a bell cow back, or a third down back. I suppose it’s possible that he thinks he’s all of those things. However, it’s important to keep in mind, trying to label a player 2 games into their career is probably futile, if not foolish.
So what is a back that doesn’t start, and plays sparingly ?
You had him at 45 we took him at 12.
If he learns how to catch the ball and run routes
should’ve been houston.
I don’t care what Brad calls him. Have you seen his pass bocking. The dude may get Goff killed, if you take a running back that high he should be a all round decent back. People even pigeoned hole him as a pass catcher more then a runner. I guess like Jamo we should expected anything from him for a couple years. That sure isn’t how I want to us our high first Rd pics. Another project
There were only 2 guys for me that would’ve worked top 10 for us
Carter &Skoronski
The rest could’ve gone anywhere from 18 to 55
Branch, Campbell, Gibbs, Laporta, OCyrus etc and I wouldn’t have blinked.
Which is why I didn’t love the pick. Also because of all the arguments I’ve made against drafting RBs too high.
But it’s too early to say he won’t work out. There’s plenty of examples of RBs who didn’t do much to start becoming studs.
I think that is a big issue. We assumed our DE was deep. But it really isn’t. We aren’t that special at DE outside Hutch. We have a lot of role players who can jump out in spots depending on the matchup but we don’t have bona fide studs or support players…personally if the team understood what they had at DE…and all indications are that they did and they do believe what they have can get the job done to an extent…why didn’t they trade up for Will anderson. They did like him and he was in play at 6…why play the dice and see if he makes it to them…houston didn’t…my personal guess is that it would have cost them the second first and they coveted Gibbs that much…they didn’t want to lose the ammo to get him or another quality player in the first.
dude is NOT a project. RELAX. Neither player is.
His speed alone will change the way defenses play us. He has to make them pay by catching the ball when he has the opportunity, but I think he can. He did at Alabama, and he did on that bomb play against GB. A few of those will keep defenses petrified of him, even if he also drops a few.
We can’t also forget something. Seattle is a very good offense. They are super bowl contenders and projected division winners to several people in the media even with the niners being in their division. They have now 3 very good wr’s and Metcalf is the closest thing to Calvin in regards to size and talent that there is in the NFL. Jacobs is better then he looked on sunday. Metcalf is just that good. I am not saying Jacobs is a pro bowler or anything like that…but he is better then he played and to go to the extreme that he sucks…is just that…an overreaction after going up against the most physically imposing wr in the NFL.

Dude Jamo was100% a project . A 1 1/2 years almost and he will just be getting on the field and you still have 0 idea of what you have.

Dude that’s not what everyone said before the game and after there loss to the Rams , once again go look at the prediction thread. Now we lost to them and miraculous there back to be a great team. Lol and you forget they were also down 3 starting Olineman.

Just my 2 cents, but I don’t think Seattle is anything special. That defense is pretty weak. Goff and Stafford carved them up with relative ease. They do have some weapons on offense. The 49ers are a way better team though.
Current coach reminds me of bo Davis. He’s a great coach but not sure the fit works here.
But again maybe it’s AG! How bad of a coach I think AG is? I think Micah Parsons would flop here
Lions didnt not expect mucb last yesr from him due to injury. The injury prevented him from being thr 1st wr drafted. He isnt a project. Feel free to be wrong.
What Seattle did to us physically is what San Francisco does to them all the time. Seattle is scared of San Francisco

San Fran has this thing called a defense. The Lions and Hawks don’t! It’s pretty much as simple as that to me. All 3 teams have good offenses, but only 1 of them has a serious defense. Hence why the 49ers are probably heading to the super bowl this year. They likely would have last year if they didn’t have so many QB’s get injured.
