Yeah i was going based on my predraft data. He did meet with offense only. While i think they will be smart and limit him to one room as a rookie, he does have high fbi. He could pick up multiple positions. It is just a matter of how soon.
Not sure if Iām the one thatās confused, but I see Vaki as competing with Netflix for RB3 and teams. I think thatās how he hits the ground and barring a need to play him on defense he only winds up there if he flames out at RB. This is going by what Brad said, heās going to āmajorā at RB and ST.
I donāt think they are going to cross train him. I could easily be wrong. But I donāt think thatās the plan. He mentioned something like they viewed his value as a RB higher than his draft spot, that had he majored at RB he might have been a much higher pick. I think they want to roll him out to compete for RB3 and to fill a big role on ST. He canāt be in that many rooms, he wonāt have time to work at S near as I can tell. Again, just going by Bradās statement. Maybe Iām missing somethingā¦
My beat mock draft (i showed you this last night) ended up being my second to last one.
I thought this one was silly too because i traded down for a top player⦠but if you erase the trade and extra pick the rest is kinda cool. I also knew the last 2 wouldnt be on the board and was correct.
Speaking of dorsey, i would be interested in seeing him try some snaps at RB he has some good vision on the returns he had but overall i think he and vildor will be long gone before they matter again⦠maybe on ps
Any thoughts on Vaki playing at the fb spot? As a safety he is big on contact and man having his vision/recieving ability means i no longer have to stomach cabinda
To me, 1 under reported attribute of Vaki, if all goes well, would be to ADD a roster spot, game day, by eliminating the need for another player to provide backup that Day, or even on the roster, ultimately. Vakiās ability to play multiple positions may allow the Lions to carry an extra OL/DL/CB somewhere else.
Hopefully, Vaki gets a chance to throw or receive a Pass in Punt formation. Heās got great hands and destroyed USC in 2023 as a RB, LIKE EVERY other PAC-12 team did against a putrid USC Defense. One of the WORST USC Defenseās of all-time, IMO.
