A little worried

I really like your dad!

He was a great man. He inspired me to play college ball, leave college because I wanted more meaning, join the Marine Corps, became an avionics technician for Delta Airlines, only to leave that and become a Cloud Engineer. All of these cliches have so much wisdom. And I love them.
Sorry for the soap box moment. Still grieving my dad still after a couple of years removed from his transition.

No problem I get it and honestly I have found myself in a bit of cognitive dissonance. I fully expect them to win but always check in to the games apprehensively (I live in GA so don’t see a lot of games live). I fully believe in Brad and Dan but sometimes struggle to accept that after 45 years this is my new normal, having a dominant team that everyone else fears and respects to cheer for.

Praying for you. Just lost my Dad in July of this year and I’m still numb over it. He was laid to rest at his final resting place in Arlington National Cemetery just last month. Not a day goes by where I don’t think about him. The emotional waves are becoming a little less frequent and smaller in stature, but they’re still there. Based on what you’ve written, your Dad sounds like he was an amazing man. Continued thoughts as you heal. I wish our Dad’s were still here to enjoy this awesome season with us (that goes for all Den members who have lost a close loved one). Anyhow, I’ve sidetracked enough. Maybe Thanksgiving has me more emotional than normal.

Let’s hope for and enjoy a great victory tomorrow!! And finally, enjoy your families and loved ones this week (well, that should be every week, but even more so this week).

I think the most similar game to this is Houston

The Lions were missing Decker for that game as well and things started badly. I expect Johnson et al have learned from that and the offense will be fine. Defense will shut down Chicago’s run and shouldn’t be threatened by a one dimensional Chicago offense

Fixing protection will fix the interception problem from Houston

They’ll be fine

If Dan mentioned it and I missed it, apologize for the dumb question. But anyone think they’ll move Sewell to LT and Skipper at RT without having any practice reps, other than walk through speed? Or will we roll like we did in Houston?

I got money on Patrick getting his first TD tomorrow. Everything’s all good.

That’ll be awesome for both you and the team. I like win-win’s

We can win every game, but also lose every game. I agree as fans should worry a little

Campbell was coy about it. He said that they may move Sewell over to the left side since it was a short week, but I think this was just gamesmanship.

I do not like the idea of Skipper protecting the left side. Goff has had 2 fumbles coming off of hits from the blind side. I think I would rather have Penei protecting the left side, and have any pressure be in Goff’s eyesight.

I think the Lions should win this game, but it’s a divisional game and we are really banged up at this point. That does have me concerned as well. What surprises me is Decker came back in and finished the Indy game, Decker said he would play Thursday, and now he is out. I have a feeling the Lions are resting him to have him ready for the Packers game. They may be looking at that as the bigger game because the Packers are much more of a threat to us than the Bears. I just really hope we are not looking past the Bears. Winning on Thanksgiving should be treated as a high priority.

He just put up 350 yards passing against a solid Min defense.

I’m only worried if Vildor sees any significant time on the field. He’s a huge liability and with Chicago’s WRs, all it takes is one busted coverage to turn it into 6. I’d feel better if they brought in Jerry Jacobs off the street rather than putting Vildor on the field.

Almost making me nervous.

It’s the new world we live in

I don’t know if I’d go quite that far :), but point is well noted. Less Vildor (other than Special Teams) is important to the Lions having success.

In my experience, there are no rules or time limits for grief. It can be a bitch, but it’s also a testament to the profound influence certain few people have in our lives and how lucky we were to have them. It can take a long long time to get there though.

That is still really strange to me. I’m used to the Lions either being ignored completely or used as examples of futility. This positive attention bordering on gushing is making me really nervous

This is true. My dad died 27 years ago. There are times I still feel the grief. Usually in situations where you would want to share something with your dad. It gets better but in my experience never goes completely away.
