Yeah, my respect for went out the window when you decided to inject yourself into a discussion with your condescending remarks. I’m not here to impress anyone or fit into what they deem appropriate internet behavior.
You are right though, the proof is in the pudding, your internet friend (LOL) had an opinion that proved to be wrong and I had one that proved to be right. You and he may not like that irrefutable fact and take offense to me pointing it out. Sucks to be you I guess, I’m living my best life with zero gaf about how you feel about it… Cheers!
Good teams rarely plan to be bad or have a reset, especially if they have a Franchise QB. They just try to reload.
Occasionally there is a major injury(s) (usually to the QB) that creates a bad year, but if you have a Franchise QB you always have a chance.
The 49ers should stop fking the tough guy stance in negotiation. They just create animosity with the players and eventually cave.
Just be open & flexible upfront like Holmes and get it done early.
There is no sense in playing with Purdy.
If he plays well and gets then back to the playoffs just give him his money and move on.
They were generally quite good before they got those guys though. Made the Super Bowl with Garropolo and the NFCCG without CMC. Regular pound the Packers no matter who they have (the main reason I don’t outright hate them, they’ve given me wonderful playoff memories of Aaron et al in tears). Kyle can coach, and they’ll believe they can reload, I’m pretty sure of it.
That is true but that was within the framework of complete outside zone supremacy. IMO defense’s have adjusted and though Shanny is still great I do believe that this current rendition of his offense is more realignment on the virtuosity of certain special offensive players with special skill sets as opposed to simply the last hurrah of the Alex Gibbs inspired run game juiced efficiency and the play action opportunities that came off of it. That’s why I viewed Aiyuk’s resigning as essential. That man beating is crucial to this current iteration IMO.
And these skill sets are not going to be easy to replace:
How often do RBs with CMC’s route trees come around? And with the every down RB toughness?
How often do OTs with Trent’s athleticism come along?
Kittle combination of movement skills, YAC and blocking prowess?
And so on.
And I think the floor likely remains very high but personally I see a high degree of difficulty with their reboot unless they can once again steal a few stars on the cheap. And they may.
While all of that may very well be true, I doubt they’ll see it that way, which is really what this is about; how they structure themselves going forward.
It’s just what comes with being a good front office.
Kittle was a 5th rd pick so that is not some special advantage.
Th 49ers have an aggressive front office.
They are not shy to make trades and gamble on risky players.
Every team could have traded for Williams during his disagreement with Washington. Williams is not an easy player to manage in the locker room. SF took the risk.
Many thought CMc was washed up with successive injuries when the 9ers traded for him they took the risk.
They took the risk and traded up for Tre Lance, they traded for Chase Young.
They drafted Fred Werner, Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk outside of the top 10 picks.
I have no doubt that their coaching staff and aggressive front office will keep them competitive now, and in the transition from Trent Williams and CMc.
I think it boils down to what you view as competitive. I don’t believe that they will be able to just reload and continue to be SB contended. Playoffs? Sure. I think Kyle is probably worth +2 or 3 regular season wins.
As for that front office, they’ve experienced a ton of brain drain. That may not matter but I do knew that for a while many viewed Peters as the guy.
Aaron Rodgers had a late vesting on his option (August or something like that, it facilitated the trade to the Jets). Seems like there are a couple others, but Rodgers was expected to play one year with the Packers and then be traded . . . and that’s what happened.
Not sure what the plans are for SF, but the contract definitely keeps the option to move on from Aiyuk early next year if they choose.
