Anybody watch Stranger Things?

The final season/finale was crap.

Felt rushed and almost like it needed another season. Started out strong, but apart from a few decent moments in each season afterwards has been kind of :poop:

I haven’t watched it yet. Ill probably wait 3 years to watch it.

My woman cried while watching the final episode.
I don’t know if I’ll watch it or not. I thought it kinda sucked last season, truthfully. I’ve never found it scary. Sort of cool and nostalgic at the beginning.

I enjoyed it for what it is. I thought the series was a LOT of fun overall and worth watching.

Last season was meh but the finale was fantastic. VERY well-written. Showed that the writers had a clear storyline from the beginning. Using D&D to explain where each main character ended up in life was perfect and made a ton of sense for the series.

I enjoyed it.

Not the greatest series of all time. But still good.

Still absolutely blows my mind, all the shows/ movies/ and video games have all been a result from Lord of the Rings (the book)

Without JRR Tolkien

We wouldnt have

Dungeon and dragons

Zelda

Star wars

Stranger things

Star trek

Harry potter

Game of Thrones

And much much much more

Not to mention the Webster Dictionary

I thought it was a great ending—no one likes endings to any series. Fantastic series, great storytelling, with a bunch of spinoffs in the works.

Lord of the Rings is also referenced in Led Zeppelin’s Ramble On song.

“T’was in the darkest depths of Mordor, I met a girl so fair / But Gollum, and the evil one crept up and slipped away with her”. The opening line, “Leaves are falling all around,” also alludes to Tolkien’s Elvish poem “Namárië,” while the song captures the adventurous spirit of Frodo’s quest for the One Ring.

Overall I enjoyed season 5, though I did find it a bit too self indulgent at times. A lot of monologues that seemed to drag a bit. The last half hour could have been cut in half at least.

Season 1 still one of the best shows ever.

Season 5 wasn’t my favorite but loved the last episode. Overall thought it was a great series.

In big TV series like this, folks often get caught up in wanting more, instead of enjoying it for what it is in the moment. If you like it, just enjoy it while you can.

Same goes for Game of Thrones, Lost, Breaking Bad, Sopranos, etc. Everybody wants to be mad when it’s over because it didn’t end like they wanted.

In that way, it’s a lot like us here in the Den, with Brad Holmes not picking that one player we had our heart set on in the draft.

ah most movies in history.

I thought how they handled Will was kinda cringey in season 4, but much better handled in season 5. They tied it into his fears and made it integral to the story. Did they ham it up a little? Maybe but I think a lot of people don’t think about how this would have been a much bigger deal 40 years ago as opposed to now

People get mad when the ending makes no sense to the plot, and we are just expected to accept it. Game of Thrones was that way. Lost was somewhat that way. Breaking Bad though, and Better Call Saul, both had excellent endings that fit the plot. I heard Sopranos was good but I didn’t watch that series all the way through. I need to, heard it was great and I love mob stuff but I never got all the way through that series.

Without posting spoilers, they had already done a reveal for a character previously though. It really wasn’t that big of a deal. Also, they hinted from the very beginning about Will so it wasn’t a shock to anyone. Which is basically how all of the people handled it.

One thing I always loved about Stranger Things is how they ended episodes on cliff hangers, so you wanted to find out what happens next. Will’s speech was not a cliff hanger to end an episode on and a “tune in next time” moment. The way Robin’s speech was done was much better. It was a part of the story. Not a “all moments leading to this big speech” thing.
