Bears trade for Bradbury

That is what I said. Keep Simmons on the left. But again, didn’t happen. Could be something to it. Could be a sports radio rumor. :man_shrugging:

Bc his cap number is 27m, they have holes all over, they are likely looking to do a one year quick restocking aiming for 2027 contention once Patty is a year further removed from the ACL.

Doesn’t matter. I’m fine with the idea that I may be too bullish on Taylor. I do believe that the penalty issues have really skewed people’s opinions on his inherent pass pro chops. I also do believe that you are far too low on him.

So the truth probably lies somewhere in between. Litigating this further is unnecessary. We have far more interesting things to talk about with FA less than 72 hours away. The tampering portion of it at least.

Why did they walk away from Tyreek Hill? Joe Thuney the year before he won the inaugural OL of the year award?

You are a bigger fan of him than I, but there’s no denying he’s a good pass protector, and that the penalties have gone down. And actually watching him, I do think there’s some truth to the idea that he’s targeted. You could watch most tackles and see they could easily be called for nearly as many false start penalties.

Larry Borom is intriguing to me. You’d just be aiming for average RT play but he might be one of those guys that emerges late in contract one and improves in that second deal. No idea how pricey he will be.

I honestly haven’t watched enough of him to say one way or the other. Once they go to another NFC North team they disappear from the face of the earth, save 2 weeks out of the year.

I don’t even know that I’m a fan. I used to make fun of him relentlessly in 2023. But I came to understand that my perspective was imperfect. He’s a much more gifted pass protector than I had realized.

I think he’s one of the better options for next season. I do not think he’s some All Star.

There you have it…..

Here’s what I find interesting. In 2022, Jawaan’s one good season in Jax he only had six penalties.

What happened? Was the deep outside foot stance and the bail into a deep set technique not something that he did until KC? Or does Pat do a great deal more with cadence in the way the Rodger’s does and Taylor lacked concentration for that. Or something else altogether.

Bc the jump from a prior baseline of a very normal number is somewhat odd.

Like I said, I honestly think all the bitching against the Chiefs played a role.

His stance looked the same in 2022… and interesting to see this video showing him playing well against the Chiefs before they signed him.

Good find. So maybe @thats2 is right and it was an overreaction to perceived Chiefs favoritism. Or like I said perhaps Patty does some more involved stuff with varied cadence. Perhaps there could be a path to an even greater reduction in false starts.

The lack of grit in the run game could be a deal breaker for us though.
