Ben and Brunell to Jags?

If, and it’s a big if, Ben decides to become HC, it could be a trifecta for the Jags, Ben, Burnell and Agnew.

Honestly I think it will be the most appealing gig for Ben this offseason.

It’s in the AFC away from us, it’s close to his childhood home, the owner has made bad decisions but doesn’t meddle and is willing to spend money, the division is generally pretty weak, and Lawrence is still a great talent despite his slow start (honestly I’d rather work with him than Caleb).

It’s not a perfect spot, but it’s the best one likely to be available imo

I could definitely see that happening if thats the case.
Lawrence has the most promise. And Jags owner is open to spending and options and trading.

NYJ, LV CLE, and CHI have been dumpster fires for decades

NO is a trillion over the cap.

Giants have been spiraling.

NE like to hire “their guys”

TEN is just a mess.

DAL, you have to deal with Jerry.

So JAX makes the most sense

Also, if Brunell is going with Ben, bringing Bridgewater back makes a ton of sense. I don’t know that he’d be promoted directly to QB coach or up to assistant for JT Barrett, but I’m sure we could find a spot for him.

Jags makes the most sense for a landing spot for Ben
I see no way he goes to the Bears
Only other place would be the Cowboys IF and only IF Jerry moves on from McCarthy which I would give about a 10% chance of that happening

It’s made the most sense since the beginning for all the reasons you’ve listed… I’ve always thought this is where he’d end up once it was obvious the Jags were rudderless this season.

This is probably the only opening that Ben would truly consider.

I am 100% sure he would never want that Bears job with the mess in the front office, in ownership, and being in the same division in Dan.

Who would he have to worry about in the South either? Stroud has looked about like how I expect he would before he got drafted. I think he will be a fringe top 10 QB for most of his career. Similar to how someone like Kirk Cousins was viewed for most of his career.

Lawrence has amazing tools and he could help build him back up like he did for Goff. He already had a really solid group of weapons in Thomas, Kirk, Davis, Engram, Etienne, and Bigsby. Could definitely see Etienne finally start to look like a 1st round pick under him.

I would hate if Ben left, but this would probably be one of the best outcomes for him. I could also root for him in the AFC as I’ve always had a bit of a soft spot for the Jags.

T law cant stay healthy. Their going to be rebuilding soon.

Jacksonville is one of the leagues smallest markets and unlike Green Bay they don’t have a bunch of bandwagon fans that don’t live there. But that might be a plus for Ben. He seems like an introvert. So it would probably come down to how he feels about Trevor. Cause they gave that guy a shitpot full of money and he hasn’t really earned it.

If Ben leaves, I’d LOVE to see Jared get to call his own plays, or at least greater latitude. He clearly wants to do it and I think he’s more than ready.

GD it Tony Khan. I love you sir. Don’t make me hate you!

If Ben thinks he can fix Lawrence then sure… If he’s not a Lawrence fan then it makes no sense. Lawrence kinda sucks IMO.

Dude hasn’t come close to earning it. His qb rating is in the 80’s in back to back seasons…

Trevor Lawrence signed a 5-year, $275 million contract extension that will keep him in Jacksonville through 2030. The contract includes a full no-trade clause.

That contract looks awful. He’s had 1 decent season out of 4 in his career.

Lawrence was the last QB I remember hyped as much as Caleb Williams was.

I will have to agree with you and I was one who thought New Orleans would be that. But if you going to do a rebuild you’d rather do it with Trevor Lawrence than Derek Carr. I never considered the Saints being in cap hell either….which they always seem to be!

1st overall picks get hyped…but you never know Baker was run out of several teams and now he’s excelling. Same with Darnold.

I think he’s been done wrong by the offensive systems he’s played in, much like Darnold and Mayfield before their resurgences. Pederson/Press Taylor’s offense is outdated and predictable, gaining yards is like pulling teeth for them. They don’t manufacture touches for their best players, very few screens, they use motion at a bottom-ten clip (along with a lot of other bad offenses).

And before that was Urban Meyer, so…

Just mentioned Baker and Darnold at the same time. You are pretty smart @Thats2

And Lawrence was a much better prospect than both those guys. I’d almost guarantee if he got Ben as his coach, he’d be one of the league’s better QBs very quickly.

The difference is Baker and Darnold didn’t get paid early like Lawrence… They were highly motivated to play well for a pay day. Lawrence is already completely loaded with cash and has done jack squat. Will he have the same motivation? Not sure.

I do like his hair though
