Ben Johnson takes subtle jab at Jared Goff and Lions D

He’s the head coach of the Bears. I don’t need any other reason to be mad at him. I could care less about what he says or does or anything at this point. He’s the head coach of a rival team in our division. I’ll treat him the same way I do KOC or LaFleur - with disgust and disdain.

Well that’s a honest answer Lol

You actually fed into that??

Nothing personal against the guy - he’s just the enemy now. :man_shrugging:

Yep that’s what I like you tell it like it is, your not reaching for every little thing. You just come out with honesty and hell that as good a reason as any. Not he made a joke about Goff crap.

I don’t know what you mean by “fed into it” I’m saying it’s a peculiar thing to say. It’s become a story And joking or not it’s definitely snarky

If Im a Bears fan I’m excited, probably amused but also a little concerned that our new head coach is talking smack like that.

he was supposed to talk about how much his players suck

Come on dude the guy is only a first time head coach and was only a OC here for 3 plus years. He doesn’t know how to handle the press stuff ATM maybe. But he’ll look at Dan when he came in with his biting knee caps line. He ended up fine.

Yeah Dan came in like a goofball with the helmet and the kneecap stuff. And took a lot of heat. He still never said anything snarky though. I’m just saying, Surely it’s in jest. But it’s unnecessary. And it’s not just Goff. He tweaked off our defense too saying how it couldn’t make stops. Sure it was true. But it doesn’t need to be said. Kerby posted some meme in response.

If anything it makes me hope all the more we crush them when we play them next year

Looking back it was hard to tell if Dan was genuine with his knee cap biting and rah rah WWE stuff in the beginning. He was saying it all with such emotion and I didn’t know if it was all an act or not. Fast forward to now, it was genuine. That guy has a real passion for the game.

Yeah he got a lot to learn, just saying it takes time to learn what to and not to say.

He may not make him a real QB for the next coach. But he’ll make him LOOK amazing as soon as this coming season. Flag in the ground. Ben schemes guys wide open, even less than amazing players. It will give Caleb confidence to slow down, especially when he can extend plays like he will do. K Sheppard went against him every day so I think we’ll have the best chance of anybody to beat the Bears, but call me not a little afraid, but a lot afraid of what that team can do in 2025. With an even better D and another injection of the kind of talent Ben Johnson desires to do his thing. TBD.

Ben Johnson has a 36-14 record as OC in 3 years on a rebuild , and 2-2 in playoffs. The dude is a good coach. And only 38 years old.

People keep blowing off what Ben has done here, and really think someone will step in with out a drop off. Morton is a respected coach I get that but he never been good at calling plays, OC jobs is a chess match with other team. What plays you call in certain situations. And Ben was very good at that aspect. Morton could be ok but there is no guarantee.

When I was racing horses had a really great horse won like 6 races in a row was always in the money witch means he finished in top 3. That horse got claimed went to a different barn and trainer. With in a month that horses could hit the board. The difference in trainers was huge. Same great horse.

I’m not too worried about it. After we ditched Lynn this offense was rolling with Dan Campbell calling plays. Plus Goff will have significant input and will have a ton of autonomy at the line

We might not have the number one offense in the league again. But I’d be surprised if we dropped out of the top five

Agreed… Also I watched an interview with new OC Morton… And back in 2022 he spent most of his time in the qb room meetings helping Goff and Johnson. Great sign IMO

With Dan Campbell, Fraley, Brunell and Morton. Goff is gonna have almost no new learning curve. Sure a few tweaks but instead we take the offense to an even better level!

You mean like 3 and 1, empty backfield against the 30th run defense?
