Wow, what a list. Thank you so much for this.

I have seen some of them. And yes, I get into Sci-Fi. I thought the Expanse was hardcore sci fi lover awesome. And I still re-watch the BattleStar Galatica from the early 2000s every once in a while after the original 70s was so cheesy and bad. Great piece of Science Fiction despite the tv budget.

I liked Silo, I’ll watch the season 2 on my next channel cycle (I don’t like paying for them at once seems like a waste of money), along with hopefully another Severence and Slow Horses. BTW Slow Horses IMO is one of the better post 2020 series but you have to really pay attention (and use captions cc for the british accents lol)

Its weird but I feel like British TV is better than American nowadays with shows like Slow Horses, Peaky Blinders, Fleabag, the Last Kingdom.

I got rid of HBO and I’m really disappointed they fell off so much lately. Part of the problem IMO. I did like Station Eleven although the whole dystopian realm is starting to bore me. If I get HBO back I’ll check out Dune Prophecy. Although it seems like they just sell it off eventually to other streaming services for a while too.

Also, I will check out Under the Bridge and Baby Reindeer on Hulu.

Once of my old time favorites that definitely wasn’t on the first watch was The Leftovers. I was so pissed at the ending. That show runner I want to strangle sometimes (Lost, Prometheus), David something, but he really does make beautifully done shows. About a year or so ago I somehow managed to rewatch an episode with a family member and cycled through it again. It was so much better when you stop trying to figure out the mystery and enjoy the acting etc. I guess I’ve grown a more sophisticated palate lol.

Oh, didn’t realize you were a fan of British shows.
I have subscriptions to Britbox and to Acorn.tv (Australian/New Zealand plus british). Tons of good shows on there.

I could go for another season of Tiger King and another stimulus check. :man_shrugging:

I liked the potential of 3 body problem. It looks like the second season is headed a good direction.

I’ll have to check out Foundation. I remember seeing an episode or two and losing interest. But I know shows can often pick up.

Shrinking (unless you dont like jason segel) is another good one on apple… and a +1 on silo as well as fallout

It just seems like they’ve been putting out more quality TV lately.

For those who are into British humor, there’s an older show called Green Wing that is really funny. It was on Amazon Prime last time I checked. Only a couple of seasons, unfortunately.

Olivia Colman is in it as a secondary character. She’s so good that she’s equally believable as a completely disheveled working mom in Green Wing and the Queen of England in The Crown.

Speaking of her, my wife and I also very much liked her in Broadchurch. Again, not a new show, but worth a watch if you haven’t seen it.

I liked the subject matter and i like walter goggins, didnt play the games either, but i can see why it wouldnt be for everyone (nothing is really).

I think this might be where I’m going in this thread. People raved about those shows and while they weren’t terrible, I could take it or leave it. Maybe its because I didn’t play those games.

I’ll have to check it out. I’m not sure it qualifies for absolutely british, but Catastrophe on Amazon had me rolling. I wish there were more seasons but the plot was a little extended by season 3.

Yep, I rotate as well. There’s just too many to try and pay for them all at once.

Man, I just can’t disagree more haha. HBO is the only subscription I refuse to let go of. They might have some hit or miss stuff, but I can’t remember the last time whatever show slotted into the 9pm Sunday Night slot wasn’t awesome. Obviously, media like this is all subjective and based on personal taste, but HBO to me is still the gold standard for premium series.

Definitely a dystopian phase going on right now. Though I’ll take it over the late '00 - early 10s zombie phase. Or the current Marvel phase that just won’t ■■■■■■■ go away. haha.

I’ve always been curious what people who didn’t play the games on those thought about them since pretty much all my friend group have played them. I thought Last of Us was great as a show and was pretty true to the game. Fallout was good too, but really kinda just making it’s own story based on the universe, which is cool. Definitely liked TLOU more than Fallout, but I’d rewatch both. lol.

I feel like it’s always easier to like something if you know it’s origins, so those are a bit biased to me. But I thought TLOU had some really awesome episodes. The Nick Offerman episode was unfortunately polarizing, but I thought was one of the best episodes I’ve seen of any series this year. (And he rightfully won an Emmy for it.)

I watched both series with my wife who is decidedly NOT a gamer of any kind.

She loved both series. But her preference was for Fallout. Why? She liked the story better and thought the show was more visually appealing.

Sorry Weasel…I LOVED both of those. But I’m also the guy who can’t wait for the final season of Stranger Things too…

Anybody watch the tv show called From?. It plays on MGM + can play on prime at times. So good and very creepy.

Superhero movies are now what westerns were in the 40s and 50s.
